The EQE 350+ AMG is a fully electric Mercedes-Benz. For a car like this in Singapore, the insurance bill can vary more than almost any other running cost. Only a handful of insurers price it online, and the gap between them is wide. This guide sets out what the figures show, along with the COE rule and the costs that depend on you.
The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They help you compare. They are not a quote.
What we can and cannot show
The EQE 350+ AMG has no entry on the new-car list now. So this guide gives no list price, power figure or body type.
There is also no road tax figure to show for this car here. Road tax for an electric car is set by its motor power. You can work it out from the car's power on the road tax page.
Our quote form prices the EQE 350+ AMG, the version most of our insurers quote.
The COE rule
A fully electric EQE 350+ AMG needs a Category A COE if its motor is 110kW (147bhp) or less. If it is more powerful, it needs a Category B COE.
In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. On a used car the COE is already paid, and its remaining years are part of the price. The COE page has later results.
Six insurers, a wide gap
The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ AMG price page prices this example:
- Car: EQE 350+ AMG, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no options
6 insurers price this car online. Ten on our panel do not. Two of those do not quote electric cars online at all.
The lowest premium is S$1,085.40 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$2,945.86. That is S$1,860.46 more, or 171% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
Put another way, the dearest lowest plan costs well over twice the lowest. With so few insurers online, it is worth asking others for a quote too.
Excess
The excesses here are simple. Most plans carry S$600. One electric-car plan, which allows any workshop, carries S$900. One plan has no excess. So on this car the premiums can be compared fairly directly.
Plans made for electric cars
Several plans on the page are built for electric cars. Their names say so. Check what each covers, such as the battery and charging equipment, before you weigh one price against another.
What moves the price
The lowest price with one detail changed:
- No NCD (0%): S$2,285.08, S$1,199.68 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,828.05, S$742.65 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$2,366.53, S$1,281.13 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,317.15, S$231.75 more
- A new car, registered this year: S$1,447.83, S$362.43 more
- A car 8 years old: S$1,049.95, S$35.45 less
The younger driver adds the most, 118% on the lowest price. Losing the NCD more than doubles it too. A new car costs noticeably more to insure than a 3-year-old one. The 8-year-old car costs a little less. These are lowest prices only; other plans may move by other sums.
For this car, the driver's profile changes the bill by more than a thousand dollars. Price your own details before you commit.
Against other electric cars
For the same driver and car age, the price page compares:
- BYD Atto 3: S$789.73
- BYD M6: S$799.24
- Tesla Model 3: S$1,093.31
- Tesla Model Y: S$1,147.48
- Hyundai Ioniq 5: S$954.21
- BYD Dolphin: S$787.08
Their average lowest price is S$928.51. The EQE 350+ AMG is 17% above that. Four of the six cost less to insure; only the two Teslas are dearer. The Mercedes-Benz car insurance page links the other models.
Before you buy
- Check the power figure: it sets both the COE category and the road tax.
- Check the battery warranty: ask how long it runs and what it covers.
- Get several quotes: only six insurers price this car online, and their prices differ widely.
- Check the dates: each price on the page shows when it was read. Some here were read more than a week ago, so they may have changed.
Costs that depend on you
- Charging: the cost turns on where you charge and how far you go. A charger at home changes the sums.
- Parking: season parking at home and work, plus other stops.
- ERP: your routes and travel times.
- Servicing: follow the maker's schedule. Tyres and brakes still wear on an electric car.
- Depreciation: what you pay against what the car fetches later.
