What commercial vehicle insurance is
This is motor insurance for vehicles used for business: goods vans and lorries, private buses and coaches, company cars and fleets. Third-party cover is the legal minimum. Comprehensive cover adds damage to your own vehicle, fire and theft. A fleet policy covers every vehicle under one schedule with one renewal.
What we need to quote
- Vehicle registration numbers, or make, model, year and tonnage
- What the vehicles carry and where they go (Singapore only, or Malaysia too)
- Who drives: named drivers with their ages and years holding a licence, or any authorised driver
- Claims and NCD history for each vehicle
Before you choose
- Any-driver cover suits a fleet with changing crews, but costs more than naming drivers.
- Goods in transit is a separate cover. Motor insurance doesn't pay for the load.
- Loss of use of a working vehicle is often the bigger cost. Ask about a replacement vehicle extension.
