How comparing home insurance works here

Tell us about your home and roughly what your things are worth. We price plans from each insurer on our panel and list them from the lowest premium up.

When you pick a plan, you finish buying on the insurer's own site, with your answers already filled in.

Before you choose

  • Contents cover should be enough to replace everything new. If you insure for too little, every claim can be paid less.
  • Renovation cover pays for fixtures and fittings you added. HDB fire insurance doesn't cover these.
  • Personal liability pays if someone is hurt in your home, or if water from your flat damages a neighbour's.

What home insurance costs today

Worked out today from each insurer’s current rates; a price from an insurer’s published table gives the date we read it (“as at”). Open an example to see what we assumed and every plan. Your own price depends on your answers.

Questions people ask

Does HDB fire insurance cover my belongings?

No. HDB fire insurance covers the building structure only. Your contents and renovations need home insurance.

I rent. Do I need this?

Your landlord insures the building. Home insurance covers your own belongings and your liability to others.

How do I estimate my contents value?

Walk through each room and add up what it would cost to replace things new. Most HDB households fall under S$60,000.
