What were the latest COE prices?
In the October 2026, 2nd round, Category A closed at S$132,004 and Category B at S$131,901. The figures come from LTA's published results.
When do I need insurance for a new car?
Before the car is registered: a car cannot be registered or driven without motor insurance in place. Arrange it once you know the delivery date, and check that cover starts on or before the registration date.
Does the COE price change my car insurance premium?
The COE premium is not one of the questions our insurers ask. Their online prices depend on the car model, its age, the main driver, the no-claim discount and the cover you choose. A higher-value car can still cost more to insure.
Can I keep my no-claim discount on a new car?
Yes. Your no-claim discount belongs to you, not the car, so it moves with you to a new car and to a new insurer. Have your latest renewal notice to hand when you get a quote.
Should I take the dealer’s insurance?
It is one quote among many. Compare it with the prices here on the same cover, excess and workshop terms before you sign.
