Audi S5 in Singapore, what it costs to buy, tax and insure

The Audi S5's costs in Singapore, from the price as listed and Category B COE to road tax and dated car insurance examples.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

An Audi S5 is a large outlay in Singapore before it turns a wheel, and its yearly costs follow suit. This page breaks those costs down: the price as listed, the COE, road tax and car insurance. It ends with the costs we cannot put a number on.

Insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They show the range on offer, not what you will pay.

The S5 on sale and on our form

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 shows one version: the S5 Sedan Mild Hybrid 3.0 TFSI qu S tronic. It is listed as a luxury body type made in Germany. It runs on petrol with electric assistance, from a 2,995cc engine, at 362bhp.

Our quote form prices the S5 3.0T, also 2,995cc. It is the version most of our insurers quote, and it is the car behind the insurance figures here.

The list price

As listed on 2026-10-10, the S5 Sedan Mild Hybrid was S$482,999, with COE included as listed that day.

That price changes with COE rounds and with what a dealer offers at the time. Before you compare offers, ask each one what is in the price.

COE

The price page's COE section says the S5 3.0T's 2,995cc engine is above 1,600cc. That puts it in Category B. In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100. The COE page shows newer rounds.

Road tax

For the 2,995cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$2,379.24 a year in road tax, before any surcharge. That is more than the lowest insurance premium on this page.

A car past 10 years old pays more:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has figures for other engine sizes.

Insuring the S5

The Audi S5 price page uses these details:

  • Car: S5 3.0T, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

9 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$1,238.58 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$2,597.00. That is S$1,358.42 more, or 110% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

The dearest lowest plan is more than double the lowest. For one car and one driver, that gap is the clearest case for comparing.

The excess

Each plan sets an excess, the part of a claim you pay first. On this page, seven plans carry S$600 and three carry S$800. One carries S$500, one S$2,500, and one has none. A lower premium paired with a higher excess may cost more if you claim.

Matching the terms

Compare plans on the same footing: workshop choice, named drivers, add-ons such as windscreen or personal accident cover. Two premiums only compare fairly when the terms behind them match.

What makes the price move

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,982.19, S$743.61 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,982.19, S$743.61 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,982.19, S$743.61 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,238.58, no change
  • New car, registered this year: S$1,275.73, S$37.15 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$1,133.23, S$105.35 less

Losing the NCD lifts the lowest price by 60%, the biggest change here. The 20% NCD case and the young driver sit at that same lowest price.

An older driver pays the same as the standard driver, though 8 insurers price that case rather than 9. A new S5 costs only a little more to insure, and an 8-year-old one a little less. Plans above the lowest may move by other amounts.

The S5 beside similar cars

The price page sets six cars with engines of about the same size beside the S5, for the same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$1,021.38. The S5 costs 21% more, and all 6 cost less to insure. Two of them, the 730d and 740d, are priced by only 2 insurers each. Other Audi models are on the Audi car insurance page.

Costs you set yourself

These vary too much by owner for one figure:

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus office and town parking.
  • Petrol: depends on distance and the pump price. The mild hybrid system works alongside the petrol engine, not instead of it.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the time you travel.
  • Servicing and repairs: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over time. Ask what the warranty and any service package cover.
  • Depreciation: the value lost over the COE life depends on what you pay and what you sell for.

Summary of yearly costs we can show

For the Audi S5 3.0T, figures dated as shown:

  • Road tax: S$2,379.24 a year, before any age surcharge (LTA's formula, checked 2026-10-19)
  • Insurance, standard driver: from S$1,238.58 a year (20 October 2026)
  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$1,982.19
  • Insurance, a new car: from S$1,275.73
  • Insurance, a car 8 years old: from S$1,133.23

One-off costs for reference: S$482,999 as listed on 2026-10-10 for the S5 Sedan Mild Hybrid, and a Category B COE of S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.
