The Volvo V60 is on the new-car list as a station wagon made in Sweden, with one mild-hybrid version. Our insurance figures, though, are for the V60 2.0T on our quote form, the version most of our insurers quote. This guide covers both: the list price for the new car, then the COE, road tax and insurance for the 2.0T.
The insurance prices are examples read on 20 October 2026 for one stated driver and car. Your own quote depends on your details.
The V60 on sale, and on our form
The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 shows one version:
- V60 Mild Hybrid B4 Plus: petrol-electric, 1,969cc, 197bhp
Our quote form lists six versions:
- V60 T2: 1,498cc
- V60 T4: 1,595cc
- V60 D3: 1,984cc
- V60 2.0T: 1,999cc
- V60 T5: 1,999cc
- V60 T6: 2,953cc
The COE, road tax and insurance figures below are for the V60 2.0T (1,999cc). A new B4 Plus has a different engine size, so its road tax and premiums will differ. Quote the exact car you mean to buy.
The price to buy new
As listed on 2026-10-10, with COE included in the list price that day:
- V60 Mild Hybrid B4 Plus: S$330,000
List prices move with each COE round. When you compare offers, check what each includes, such as the warranty and servicing, before you compare the totals.
COE
The price page states that the V60 2.0T, with its 1,999cc engine, is above 1,600cc. It needs a Category B COE. Category B closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round. The COE page shows the latest.
Road tax
LTA's formula gives S$1,210.92 a year for the 2.0T's 1,999cc engine, before any age surcharge.
After 10 years, a surcharge applies:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
For the B4 Plus and the other versions, use the road tax page.
Insurance for the standard driver
The Volvo V60 price page prices this case:
- Car: V60 2.0T, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons
For that driver, 13 insurers give a price. The lowest premium is S$973.95. The insurer whose lowest plan is highest asks at least S$1,514.89. That is S$540.94 more, or 56% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
Three insurers on our panel have no online price. Two have none for this model yet, and one does not list it on its online quote.
The excess
The excess is your share of each claim. The lowest premium on this page carries a S$2,500 excess. Ten plans carry S$600. Others sit at S$500 or S$800. Two more ask S$2,500 and one asks S$3,000. One plan has none. Weigh the premium you save against the excess you would pay.
How the price moves
With one detail changed and the rest held, the lowest price becomes:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,310.92, S$336.97 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,310.92, S$336.97 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,310.92, S$336.97 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,113.55, S$139.60 more
- A new car, registered this year: S$944.11, S$29.84 less
- A car 8 years old: S$930.61, S$43.34 less
Losing the NCD adds 35% at the lowest price. A driver aged 27 pays the same. A driver aged 65 pays S$139.60 more, with one fewer insurer quoting.
Both a new V60 2.0T and an 8-year-old one start lower than the 3-year-old car on the page.
These are lowest prices only. Other plans may move by other amounts, so ask for the exact case that fits you.
Against similar cars

- Lexus RX: S$972.39
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class: S$861.03
- BMW 5 Series: S$861.03
- Toyota Voxy: S$793.75

Their average lowest price is S$867.25. The V60 2.0T is 12% above it, and all six are cheaper to insure. The two Lexus models, at S$972.39, come closest to it. More Volvos are on the Volvo car insurance page.
