Owning a Skoda Superb in Singapore, cost by cost

Skoda Superb costs in Singapore: the list price as listed, COE, road tax and dated car insurance examples for a standard driver and others.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Skoda Superb sits at the large end of the Skoda range. If you are pricing one up, new or used, this page goes through the costs one at a time. It covers the price to buy, the COE, road tax and car insurance.

Insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are a guide to how the costs compare, not a quote for you.

On sale and on the quote form

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one Superb on sale, made in the Czech Republic and listed under the Luxury body type:

  • Superb Combi Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Laurin & Klement: petrol-electric, 1,498cc, 148bhp

Our quote form, which also covers older cars, lists three versions:

  • Superb 1.8: 1,781cc
  • Superb 2.0: 1,984cc
  • Superb 2.5 TDi Classic: 2,494cc

The insurance and road tax figures below are for the Superb 1.8, the version most of our insurers quote.

Buying new

As listed on 2026-10-10, the Superb Combi Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Laurin & Klement was S$242,900, with COE included in that day's list price.

List prices move with each COE round. A dealer's figure today may not match. When you compare offers, check what each one includes.

COE

The price page states the COE for the version it prices. The Superb 1.8 has a 1,781cc engine, above 1,600cc, so it needs a Category B COE. That category closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.

COE premiums change every round. The COE page has the latest results.

Road tax for the 1.8

Road tax follows engine size. LTA's formula gives S$955.22 a year for the 1,781cc engine, before any age surcharge. The 2.0 and 2.5 have bigger engines, so they pay more.

The surcharge starts after 10 years:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

See the road tax page for other engine sizes.

Insurance: the standard case

The Skoda Superb price page prices the same driver and car at every insurer:

  • Car: Superb 1.8, registered 3 years ago, private use
  • Cover: comprehensive, authorised workshop, no options
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years' driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims

12 insurers price this case. The lowest is S$886.61 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,412.12. That is S$525.51 more, or 59% on top. All figures include 9% GST.

The first few prices sit close together. The spread opens up further down the list.

Four more insurers have no online price for the Superb.

Mind the excess

The excess is the part of each claim you pay. Most plans here carry S$600, but the range is S$0 to S$3,000. Two of the three lowest premiums carry S$2,500 or S$3,000. A slightly dearer plan with a lower excess may suit you better if you claim. Look at both numbers.

Prices marked as estimates come from an insurer's rate table.

How the price moves

The price page reworks the lowest price with one change at a time:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,130.31, S$243.70 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,125.19, S$238.58 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,130.31, S$243.70 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$880.20, S$6.41 less
  • A new car, registered this year: S$864.62, S$21.99 less
  • A car 8 years old: S$797.25, S$89.36 less

The biggest jump comes from losing the NCD: the lowest price rises by 27%. A young driver with three years' driving pays the same.

Every other change brings the price down a little. The older driver, the new car and the 8-year-old car all cost less to insure than the standard case at this lowest price.

These are lowest prices. Dearer plans may move by more or less.

Set against similar cars

The price page compares six cars for the same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$741.89. The Superb costs 20% more than that, and all six are cheaper to insure.

See the Skoda car insurance page for the rest of the range. The cheapest cars to insure page compares across makes.

Costs that depend on you

We give no figures for these. They change too much from owner to owner.

  • Parking: your season parking at home and at work, and short-term parking elsewhere.
  • Petrol: depends on distance and pump prices. The mild hybrid on the new-car list pairs petrol with an electric motor.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and timing.
  • Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule. Ask what the warranty and any service package cover.
  • Depreciation: what the car loses over its COE life, set by what you pay and what it later fetches.

Summary of yearly costs we can show

For the Superb 1.8, dated as shown:

  • Road tax: S$955.22 a year, before any age surcharge (LTA's formula, checked 2026-10-19)
  • Insurance, standard driver: from S$886.61 a year (20 October 2026)
  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$1,130.31
  • Insurance, a car 8 years old: from S$797.25

One-off, for reference: the Superb Combi Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Laurin & Klement at S$242,900 as listed on 2026-10-10, and a Category B COE for the 1.8 at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.
