Skoda Fabia Combi in Singapore, what it costs to own and insure

Skoda Fabia Combi 1.2 costs in Singapore: road tax, the COE category rule and car insurance from 8 insurers for one standard driver, dated.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

Only 8 insurers price the Skoda Fabia Combi online, so you have fewer quotes to compare. The ones that do quote span a wide range. This page sets out the COE rule, the road tax and those insurance prices, then the costs that depend on you.

All insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own price will differ.

The version we priced

There is no Fabia Combi on the new-car list we read, so this page has no list price. Our quote form prices the Fabia Combi 1.2, with a 1,198cc engine.

COE

For the Fabia Combi 1.2, with a 1,198cc engine, the category depends on power:

  • Category A if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less: S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round
  • Category B if it is more: S$130,100 in the same round

On a used car, the COE is already paid. Check the expiry date, because the years left are part of the price. The COE page shows the latest round.

Road tax

LTA's formula gives the 1,198cc engine a road tax of S$507.12 a year, before any age surcharge.

Cars more than 10 years old pay a surcharge:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has the formula for other engine sizes.

Insurance for the Fabia Combi

The Skoda Fabia Combi price page prices this profile:

  • Car: Fabia Combi 1.2, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: at an authorised workshop, no add-ons

Eight quote, eight do not

8 insurers give an online price. Another eight on our panel do not: seven have no online price for the model yet, and one does not list it. The price page names them. A direct quote from one of them could add to your options.

The range

The lowest premium is S$666.79 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,247.27, which is S$580.48 more, or 87% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

The excess

Every plan here carries S$800 or less. Most carry S$600, with others at S$500 or S$800, and one has no excess. That keeps the premiums easy to compare like for like.

Several prices are marked as estimates. Confirm them on the insurer's own site, where you finish buying.

How the lowest price moves

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,036.64, S$369.85 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,036.64, S$369.85 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,036.64, S$369.85 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$666.79, the same
  • A new car, registered this year: S$700.28, S$33.49 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$622.34, S$44.45 less

Three lines meet at one figure: no NCD, 20% NCD and the younger driver all pay 55% more than the standard driver at the lowest price. The driver aged 65 pays the same, with 7 insurers quoting. A newer car costs a little more, an older one a little less.

These are lowest prices only. Dearer plans may move by other amounts. With only 8 insurers quoting, one change in a single insurer's rates can also shift the lowest price, so check again at each renewal.

What to check on a plan

  • Other insurers: with half the panel missing online, ask a few directly.
  • Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Any-workshop plans may cost a different amount.
  • Named drivers: check who may drive and what a younger driver adds.
  • NCD protection: some plans offer it as an add-on. It is not in these prices.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average lowest price is S$688.21. The Fabia Combi, at S$666.79, is 3% below it. Three of the six cost less to insure: the Jazz, the Qashqai and the C-HR. Each of the six is quoted online by more insurers. Other Skodas are on the Skoda car insurance page.

Costs that depend on you

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus parking at work and when out.
  • Petrol: depends on how far you drive and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the times you drive.
  • Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule. On a used car, ask for the service record and check that parts are easy to find.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay, the COE years left and what you sell for.
