Skoda Octavia RS 2.0 TSI in Singapore: list price as listed on 2026-10-10, Category B COE, road tax and car insurance from 11 insurers for one driver.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

If the Skoda Octavia RS is on your list, this page puts its main costs side by side. The new-car list carries the same 2.0 TSI version that our price page quotes, so the list price, COE, road tax and insurance figures all describe one car. The costs that depend on you come at the end.

The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not a quote.

The car on sale

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one Octavia RS, listed with a sports body type and made in the Czech Republic:

  • Octavia RS 2.0 TSI: petrol, 1,984cc, 265bhp

Our quote form prices the same Octavia RS 2.0 TSI.

What it was listed at

As listed on 2026-10-10, the Octavia RS 2.0 TSI was S$229,900, with COE included in the list price that day.

List prices change with each COE round. Before you compare dealer offers, check what each price covers.

COE: Category B

With a 1,984cc engine, above 1,600cc, the Octavia RS 2.0 TSI needs a Category B COE. It closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.

A used Octavia RS carries its COE already. Its remaining years count towards the price. The COE page has the latest results.

Road tax

LTA's formula gives the 1,984cc engine a road tax of S$1,193.34 a year, before any age surcharge. For this car, road tax costs more each year than the lowest insurance premium.

Once a car is more than 10 years old, a surcharge applies:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has the formula for other engine sizes.

Insuring the Octavia RS

The Skoda Octavia RS price page prices this profile:

  • Car: Octavia RS 2.0 TSI, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: at an authorised workshop, no add-ons

Eleven insurers

11 insurers price it online. Five on our panel do not: four have no online price for the model yet, and one does not list it.

The lowest premium is S$959.78 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,453.34, which is S$493.56 more, or 51% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

The excess

S$600 is the usual excess on this page. The plans marked as estimates carry S$800, a couple carry S$500, one carries S$2,500, and one has none. Look at both the premium and the excess for each plan.

Confirm the estimated prices on the insurer's own site, where you finish buying.

What moves the lowest price

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,168.64, S$208.86 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,168.64, S$208.86 more

  • A new car, registered this year: S$988.65, S$28.87 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$913.55, S$46.23 less

In short:

  • NCD and younger drivers: three lines share one figure, 22% above the standard driver.
  • Older drivers: the driver aged 65 pays S$89.06 more, with 10 insurers quoting.
  • A new car: S$28.87 more at the lowest price, also with 10 insurers quoting.
  • An older car: S$46.23 less at 8 years old.

These are lowest prices only. Dearer plans may move by other amounts.

What to check on a plan

  • New-car cover: if you buy new, check what each plan pays if the car is written off early on.
  • Named drivers: check who may drive, and what a younger driver adds.
  • Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Any-workshop plans may cost a different amount.
  • NCD protection: an add-on on some plans, not in these prices.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average lowest price is S$867.25. The Octavia RS, at S$959.78, is 11% above it. Four of the six cost less to insure, and the two Lexus models cost a little more. Other Skodas are on the Skoda car insurance page.

Costs that depend on you

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus parking at work and when out.
  • Petrol: depends on how far you drive and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the times you drive.
  • Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule, and plan for tyres and brakes. Ask what the warranty and any service package cover.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay and what the car fetches later.
