Skoda Octavia costs in Singapore: list prices as listed on 2026-10-10, road tax on the 1.0, the COE rule and car insurance from 14 insurers.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Skoda Octavia has been on Singapore roads in many versions, and it is still sold new. This page sets out the versions and list prices on the new-car list, then the COE rule, road tax and car insurance for the version our insurers quote most. It closes with the costs that depend on you.

The insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own premium depends on your details.

On sale now

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has four versions, with the Octavia listed as a sedan made in the Czech Republic:

  • Octavia Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Selection: petrol-electric, 1,498cc, 114bhp
  • Octavia Combi Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Selection: petrol-electric, 1,498cc, 114bhp
  • Octavia RS 2.0 TSI: petrol, 1,984cc, 265bhp
  • Octavia Combi RS 2.0 TSI: petrol, 1,984cc, 265bhp

List prices

As listed on 2026-10-10, with COE included in the list price that day:

  • Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Selection: S$184,900
  • Combi Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Selection: S$199,900
  • RS 2.0 TSI: S$229,900
  • Combi RS 2.0 TSI: S$250,900

These move with each COE round. When you compare dealer quotes, check what each includes.

The version we priced

Our quote form lists twelve Octavia versions, from a 999cc 1.0 up to several 1,984cc 2.0s. The insurance figures below are for the Octavia 1.0, with a 999cc engine, the version most of our insurers quote. It is not one of the versions on sale new, so a quote for a new car will differ.

COE

The price page states the rule for the Octavia 1.0, with a 999cc engine:

  • Category A if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less: S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round
  • Category B if it is more: S$130,100 in the same round

For a new Octavia, ask the dealer which category applies to the version you are buying. The COE page has the latest results.

Road tax

LTA's formula gives the 1.0's 999cc engine a road tax of S$390.80 a year, before any age surcharge. The new 1,498cc and 1,984cc versions pay more; see the road tax page.

A surcharge applies once a car is more than 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

Car insurance for the Octavia 1.0

The Skoda Octavia price page prices this profile:

  • Car: Octavia 1.0, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: at an authorised workshop, no add-ons

The spread

14 insurers price it, and two on our panel do not. The lowest premium is S$652.76 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,178.59: S$525.83 more, or 81% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

The lowest price has a high excess

The lowest premium on this page carries a S$2,500 excess. The next two carry S$600 and S$500. So the lowest premium is not the lowest cost if you claim. Across the page, most plans carry S$600, with others at S$500 or S$800, a few at S$2,500 or S$3,000, and one at none.

Several prices are marked as estimates. Confirm them on the insurer's own site, where you finish buying.

How the price changes

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,041.10, S$388.34 more
  • 20% NCD: S$986.66, S$333.90 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,041.10, S$388.34 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$721.59, S$68.83 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$628.86, S$23.90 less
  • A car 8 years old: S$632.12, S$20.64 less

Losing your NCD raises the lowest price by 59%, and the 27-year-old driver pays the same. An older driver pays S$68.83 more, with 13 insurers quoting. Both car-age lines come in lower than the standard profile: a new car by S$23.90 and an 8-year-old one by S$20.64.

These are lowest prices only. Dearer plans may move by other amounts.

What to check on a plan

  • Excess on the lowest price: as above, the lowest premium here comes with a high excess.
  • Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Any-workshop plans may cost a different amount.
  • Named drivers: check who may drive and what a younger driver adds.
  • Right version: with twelve versions on the form, make sure each quote matches your car.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average lowest price is S$660.63. The Octavia 1.0, at S$652.76, is 1% below it. Two of the six, the C3 and the QQ, cost less to insure. These rivals are compared at the 1.0's small engine size, not the new 1.5 or 2.0. Other Skodas are on the Skoda car insurance page.

Costs that depend on you

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus parking at work and when out.
  • Petrol: depends on the version, your mileage and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the times you drive.
  • Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule. On a new car, ask what the warranty and service package cover.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay and what the car fetches later.
