20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Skoda Octavia Combi RS is on the new-car list, and the version listed is the same one our price page quotes. That puts the list price, COE, road tax and insurance for one car in one place. This page goes through each, then the costs that depend on you.

The insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own price depends on your details.

The car

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one Octavia Combi RS, a station wagon made in the Czech Republic:

  • Octavia Combi RS 2.0 TSI: petrol, 1,984cc, 265bhp

Our quote form prices the same Octavia Combi RS 2.0 TSI.

List price

As listed on 2026-10-10, the Octavia Combi RS 2.0 TSI was S$250,900, with COE included in the list price that day.

That figure moves with each COE round. Ask the dealer what their price includes before you compare.

COE: Category B

With a 1,984cc engine, above 1,600cc, the Octavia Combi RS 2.0 TSI needs a Category B COE. It closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.

On a used one, the COE has already been paid, and its remaining years count towards the price. The COE page has the latest results.

Road tax

LTA's formula gives the 1,984cc engine a road tax of S$1,193.34 a year, before any age surcharge. That is more than the lowest insurance premium for this car.

A surcharge applies once a car is more than 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has the formula for other engine sizes.

Insurance for the Combi RS

The Skoda Octavia Combi RS price page prices this profile:

  • Car: Octavia Combi RS 2.0 TSI, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: at an authorised workshop, no add-ons

Ten insurers

10 insurers price it online. Six on our panel do not: five have no online price for the model yet, and one does not list it.

The lowest premium is S$959.78 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,453.34: S$493.56 more, or 51% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

The excess

Most plans carry S$600, and the plans marked as estimates S$800. Others carry S$500, one carries S$2,500, and one has none. Compare each premium with what you would pay on a claim.

Confirm the estimated prices on the insurer's own site, where you finish buying.

How the price changes

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,168.64, S$208.86 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,168.64, S$208.86 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,168.64, S$208.86 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,048.84, S$89.06 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$988.65, S$28.87 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$913.55, S$46.23 less

No NCD, 20% NCD and the younger driver all reach the same lowest price, 22% above the standard driver. The driver aged 65 pays S$89.06 more. A new car costs S$28.87 more at the lowest price, and only 9 insurers quote it. That is worth knowing if you are buying from the showroom.

These are lowest prices only. Dearer plans may move by other amounts.

What to check on a plan

  • New-car cover: for a new car, check what each plan pays if the car is written off in its early years.
  • Named drivers: check who may drive and what a younger driver adds.
  • Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Any-workshop plans may cost a different amount.
  • NCD protection: some plans offer it as an add-on, not in these prices.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average lowest price is S$867.25. The Octavia Combi RS, at S$959.78, is 11% above it. Four of the six cost less to insure; only the two Lexus models cost more. Other Skodas, including the standard Octavia Combi, are on the Skoda car insurance page.

Costs that depend on you

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus parking at work and when out.
  • Petrol: depends on how far you drive and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the times you drive.
  • Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule. Ask what the warranty and any service package cover.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay and what the car fetches later.
