Skoda Superb Combi in Singapore, what it costs to buy and insure

The Skoda Superb Combi in Singapore: list price as listed, COE rule, road tax and dated car insurance prices for a standard driver.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Superb Combi is the station wagon version of Skoda's largest model. This guide is for anyone in Singapore costing one out, whether new or a few years old. It covers the list price, the COE, road tax and car insurance in turn.

The insurance prices are examples for a single stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They help you compare. They are not the price you will be quoted.

Versions: new and on the quote form

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one Superb Combi on sale. It is a station wagon made in the Czech Republic:

  • Superb Combi Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Laurin & Klement: petrol-electric, 1,498cc, 148bhp

Our quote form lists four versions, including older ones:

  • Superb Combi 1.5 TSI Laurin & Klement: 1,498cc
  • Superb Combi 1.6 TDI: 1,598cc
  • Superb Combi 1.8 TSI: 1,798cc
  • Superb Combi 2.0: 1,968cc

The insurance and road tax figures below are for the 1.6 TDI, the version most of our insurers quote.

The list price

As listed on 2026-10-10, the Mild Hybrid 1.5 TSI Laurin & Klement was S$242,900. That figure included COE as listed on the day.

Each COE round can move the list price. When you get offers, check what each includes before you compare the total.

COE

For the priced 1.6 TDI, with a 1,598cc engine, the category turns on power. It needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less, and a Category B COE if it is more.

The October 2026 1st round closed at S$130,001 for Category A and S$130,100 for Category B. The COE page shows newer rounds as they close.

Road tax

LTA's formula gives S$741.72 a year for the 1.6 TDI's 1,598cc engine, before any age surcharge. Versions with bigger engines pay more.

Cars over 10 years old pay a surcharge on top:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has the sums for other engine sizes.

Car insurance for one standard driver

The Skoda Superb Combi price page asks every insurer to price this case:

  • Car: Superb Combi 1.6 TDI, registered 3 years ago, private use
  • Cover: comprehensive, authorised workshop repairs, no options
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims

For that case, 8 insurers give a price. The lowest is S$907.62 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,389.06, or S$481.44 more. That is 53% on top. Prices include 9% GST.

Eight insurers have no online price for this model. That makes the choice narrower than for many cars, so it pays to see every quote on offer.

The excess

Your excess is what you pay on each claim before cover starts. On this page the excess runs from S$0 to S$800. Many plans carry S$600. The spread here is small next to many other cars, but it still differs from plan to plan. Read it beside the premium.

Prices marked as estimates come from an insurer's rate table rather than a live quote.

How the premium shifts

From the price page, the lowest price when one thing changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,120.15, S$212.53 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,120.15, S$212.53 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,120.15, S$212.53 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$907.62, the same
  • A new car, registered this year: S$907.62, the same
  • A car 8 years old: S$900.37, S$7.25 less

Going without NCD adds 23% to the lowest price. A 20% NCD and a younger driver land on the same figure.

Neither driver age at the older end nor car age changes much here. The 8-year-old car comes in only a little lower.

These are lowest prices. Plans further up the list may move by other amounts.

Compared with similar cars

The price page sets six cars with similar engines beside it, for the same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$724.93. The Superb Combi costs 25% more than that. Five of the six are cheaper to insure; only the Mazda 3 costs more.

Other models from the maker are on the Skoda car insurance page. The cheapest cars to insure page looks across makes.

Costs we leave to you

These depend on how you use the car, so there are no figures:

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, and parking at work or in town.
  • Fuel: your mileage and the pump price. The new mild hybrid adds an electric motor to its petrol engine.
  • ERP: depends on the roads and times you drive.
  • Servicing: follow the maker's schedule. Tyres, brakes and batteries add up over the years.
  • Depreciation: the value the car loses over its COE life, which turns on your price and its resale.

Summary of yearly costs we can show

For the Superb Combi 1.6 TDI, dated as shown:

  • Road tax: S$741.72 a year, before any age surcharge (LTA's formula, checked 2026-10-19)

  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$1,120.15
