Peugeot 5008 costs in Singapore, from COE to car insurance

What a Peugeot 5008 costs each year in Singapore: road tax on the 1.2 Allure, the COE rule and dated car insurance prices for one driver.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

A Peugeot 5008 bought in Singapore today is most likely a used car, since the new-car list we read has none on sale. Either way, the yearly running costs are what you live with. This page covers the ones with a figure: the COE, road tax and car insurance. It then lists the rest.

Insurance prices here were read on 20 October 2026 for one stated driver. They are examples, so your own premium will differ.

The versions on our form

With no 5008 on the new-car list, there is no list price here. Our quote form carries seven versions:

  • 5008 1.2 Allure: 1,199cc
  • 5008 Active Puretech 1.2 EAT6: 1,199cc
  • 5008 1.6 THP: 1,598cc
  • 5008 1.6 VTi: 1,598cc
  • 5008 ALLURE 1.6 E-THP EAT6: 1,598cc
  • 5008 HDi 110: 1,560cc
  • 5008 Hdi: 1,997cc

The insurance prices below are for the 1.2 Allure, the version most of our insurers quote. Check which version you are looking at, because engine size drives the road tax.

COE

For the 5008 1.2 Allure, with its 1,199cc engine, the COE category depends on power:

  • Category A if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less: S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round
  • Category B if it is more: S$130,100 in the same round

On a used car the COE has already been paid, and the years left on it affect the asking price. When it runs out, the owner must renew it or take the car off the road. The COE page has the latest round.

Road tax

The 1.2's 1,199cc engine pays S$507.72 a year under LTA's formula, before any age surcharge. The 1,560cc, 1,598cc and 1,997cc versions pay more. Look them up on the road tax page.

For a car over 10 years old, add a surcharge:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The Peugeot 5008 price page is based on this profile:

  • Car: 5008 1.2 Allure, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims

Lowest and dearest

14 insurers price this car. The lowest premium is S$604.07 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,386.67: S$782.60 more, or 130% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Two insurers on our panel have no online price for the 5008 yet.

The excess

S$600 is the excess on most plans here. Others range from S$500 to S$800, three plans carry S$2,500, one carries S$3,000, and one has none. A premium only tells half the story. Check what you would pay yourself on a claim.

What makes the price move

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,160.34, S$556.27 more
  • 20% NCD: S$997.11, S$393.04 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,136.39, S$532.32 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$604.07, the same
  • A new car, registered this year: S$622.34, S$18.27 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$552.91, S$51.16 less

Your NCD is the biggest factor. With no NCD, the lowest price rises 92%. A 27-year-old driver with 30% NCD pays nearly as much. An 8-year-old 5008 is cheaper to insure at the lowest price than a 3-year-old one, which suits a model bought mostly second-hand.

These lines are the lowest prices only. Dearer plans may move by other amounts. For the 65-year-old driver, one fewer insurer gives a price.

Next to similar cars

The price page compares six similar cars, for the same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$688.21. The 5008, at S$604.07, is 12% below it. Two of the six, the Qashqai and the C-HR, cost less to insure. The Peugeot car insurance page has other Peugeot models, and the cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across makes.

The costs that vary

These depend on how you use the car and where you live:

  • Parking: season parking at your block or condo, plus parking at work and on outings.
  • Fuel: your mileage and the pump price on the day.
  • ERP: your routes and the times you travel.
  • Servicing and repairs: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over the years. On a used car, ask for the service record.
  • Depreciation: what you pay against what you later sell for, shaped by the COE years left.

Summary of yearly costs we can show

For the 5008 1.2 Allure, dated as shown:
