The Peugeot 207 came with several engines, and the 1.4 is the one most insurers quote. Its road tax is moderate. What stands out is the spread of insurance prices: the dearest insurer's lowest plan costs well over twice the lowest premium. This guide sets out the figures, with the COE category.
All insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not your quote.
Peugeot 207 versions
The new-car list read for this guide has no entry for the 207 on sale now, so there is no list price, power figure or body type here. Our quote form lists four versions:
- 207 1.4: 1,359cc
- 207 1.4 XR HDi: 1,398cc
- 207 1.6: 1,560cc
- 207 1.6 SPRT - Hatchback: 1,598cc
The price page prices the 207 1.4. All figures below are for that car.
COE
For the 207 1.4, with its 1,359cc engine, the category depends on power:
- Category A: 97kW (130bhp) or less. S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round.
- Category B: more than that. S$130,100 in the same round.
A used 207 keeps its COE until it expires. The COE page has the latest results.
Road tax
LTA's formula gives the 1,359cc engine S$601.56 a year before any age surcharge. That was checked on 2026-10-19.
The surcharge for older cars:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The 1.6 versions have bigger engines, and road tax rules also differ by fuel type. Check the exact car on the road tax page.
Car insurance for the standard driver
The Peugeot 207 price page prices this case:
- Car: 207 1.4, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons
13 insurers price it, across 20 plans. The lowest premium is S$642.42, on a plan that allows any workshop or an authorised one. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,757.09. That is S$1,114.67 more, or 174% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
The lowest plan also stands well clear of the next, at S$914.76. Three insurers on the panel have no online price for the 207.
Excess
Eight of the 20 plans carry an S$600 excess. Two carry S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. Three carry S$2,500, one S$3,000 and one none.
The third-lowest premium, S$983.62, is the plan with the S$3,000 excess. Four plans are estimates, which can change once your details are in. When you compare, line up each premium with its excess.
How the price changes
The price page shows the lowest price with one change at a time:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,026.78, S$384.36 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,026.78, S$384.36 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years of driving, 30% NCD: S$1,026.78, S$384.36 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years of driving: S$642.42, the same
- New car, registered this year: S$660.69, S$18.27 more
- Car 8 years old: S$586.41, S$56.01 less
- The NCD: with none, the lowest price is 60% higher, the largest change shown.
- A young driver: aged 27 with 30% NCD, the lowest price matches the no-NCD figure.
- An older driver: aged 65 with a long record, no change, with one fewer insurer quoting.
- Car age: an 8-year-old 207 costs less to insure at the lowest price.
These are lowest prices only. With such a wide spread, dearer plans can move quite differently.

- Mazda 3: S$927.36
- Toyota Sienta: S$604.07
- BMW X1: S$811.71
- Mercedes-Benz GLB: S$787.96
- Honda Freed: S$642.42

Their average lowest price is S$753.91. The 207 is 15% below it. Only one of the six, the Sienta, is cheaper to insure. The Freed matches it. Other Peugeot models are on the Peugeot car insurance page.

- Fuel: your mileage and the pump price
- ERP: your routes and the times you travel
- Servicing and parts: ask how easily parts can be found, and for the service record
- Depreciation: what you pay against the COE years left
Before you buy
