The Peugeot 3008 has been sold in Singapore in many versions over the years, with engines from 1,199cc to 1,997cc. This page looks at what one costs you each year, item by item: the COE, road tax and car insurance, with the figures we can show.
All insurance prices here are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own price depends on your details, so use them to see the spread, not as your quote.
Seven versions on the quote form
The new-car list we read has no 3008 on sale now, so this page gives no list price. Our quote form lists seven versions:
- 3008 1.2 EAT8 ACTIVE PREMIUM: 1,199cc
- 3008 Active Puretech 1.2 EAT6: 1,199cc
- 3008 1.6 THP: 1,598cc
- 3008 1.6 VTi: 1,598cc
- 3008 1.6L BlueHDI EAT6: 1,560cc
- 3008 HDi 150: 1,997cc
- 3008 HDi 163: 1,997cc
The insurance prices below are for the 1.2 EAT8 ACTIVE PREMIUM, the version most of our insurers quote. If yours has a bigger engine, its road tax and premium will not be the same.
COE category
For the 1.2 EAT8 ACTIVE PREMIUM, with its 1,199cc engine, the COE category turns on power:
- Category A if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less: S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round
- Category B if its power is more: S$130,100 in the same round
Premiums are set at each bidding round, so these figures will move. For a used car, the COE is already paid, and how many years are left on it affects what the car is worth. See the COE page for the latest round.
Road tax by engine size
LTA's formula puts road tax on the 1,199cc engine at S$507.72 a year, before any age surcharge. The 1,560cc, 1,598cc and 1,997cc versions pay more because their engines are larger. Look up their figures on the road tax page.
Once a car is more than 10 years old, an age surcharge is added:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
Many 3008s on the road are older cars, so check the registration date before you budget.
What insurers ask for the 3008
The Peugeot 3008 price page prices this profile:
- Car: 3008 1.2 EAT8 ACTIVE PREMIUM, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: at an authorised workshop, no add-ons
14 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$721.59 a year. At the other end, the insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,386.67. The gap is S$665.08, or 92% more. All prices include 9% GST.
Two insurers on our panel have no online price for this model yet. The price page lists them.
Excess levels
Each plan has an excess, the share of a claim you pay. On this page most plans carry S$600. Others carry S$500, S$750 or S$800, and some go to S$2,500 or S$3,000. One plan has no excess at all. Some of the lower premiums come with the higher excesses, so read the two figures together.
When the driver or car changes
The price page shows how the lowest price moves when one detail changes:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,117.23, S$395.64 more
- 20% NCD: S$997.11, S$275.52 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,117.23, S$395.64 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$721.59, the same
- A new car, registered this year: S$742.90, S$21.31 more
- A car 8 years old: S$660.69, S$60.90 less
The NCD matters most. With none, the lowest price rises 55%. A younger driver with three years' driving pays the same lowest price as the driver with no NCD. An older 3008 costs a little less to insure at the lowest price, and a new one a little more.
Only the lowest price is shown for each line. Other plans may move by more or less.
Next to similar cars
The price page sets the 3008 beside six similar cars, for the same driver and car age:
- Mercedes-Benz GLB: S$787.96
- Mercedes-Benz A-Class: S$787.96
- Mercedes-Benz GLA: S$787.96
- Honda Jazz / Fit: S$622.34
- Nissan Qashqai: S$590.12
- Toyota C-HR: S$552.91
Their average lowest price is S$688.21. The 3008, at S$721.59, is 5% above that average. Three of the six cost less to insure, and three cost more. For other Peugeots, see the Peugeot car insurance page.
The owner-dependent costs
These costs vary too much between owners to give a figure:
- Parking: your season parking at home, plus what you pay at work and when out. HDB and condo rates differ, so check yours.
- Fuel: your bill depends on how far you drive and the pump price on the day.
- ERP: set by the roads and times you drive.
- Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule, and budget for tyres, brakes and a battery over the years. On a used car, ask for the service history.
- Depreciation: depends on the price you pay, the COE years left and the price you sell at.
