Peugeot 308CC in Singapore, what it costs to own and insure

Peugeot 308CC 1.6 Turbo Sport costs in Singapore: road tax, the COE rule and car insurance prices from 7 insurers for one driver, dated.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Peugeot 308CC is a less common car in Singapore, and that shows in the insurance prices. Fewer insurers quote it online, and it costs more to insure than the similar cars we compare it with. This page goes through those prices, the road tax and the COE, then the costs that depend on you.

The insurance figures were read on 20 October 2026 for one stated driver. They are examples only. Your own premium depends on your details.

The version we priced

There is no 308CC on the new-car list we read, so this page has no list price. Our quote form prices the 308CC 1.6 Turbo Sport, with a 1,598cc engine. Every figure here is for that version.

COE category

With a 1,598cc engine, the 308CC 1.6 Turbo Sport's COE category depends on power:

  • Category A if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less: S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round
  • Category B if it is more: S$130,100 in that round

Each bidding round sets new figures. For a used 308CC, the COE comes with the car, and the years left on it matter when you agree a price. The COE page shows the latest round.

Road tax

LTA's formula gives the 1,598cc engine a road tax of S$741.72 a year, before any age surcharge.

The surcharge starts once the car is more than 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

If the 308CC you are looking at is near or past that age, budget for the higher figure. The road tax page covers other engine sizes.

Insurance: fewer quotes, higher prices

The Peugeot 308CC price page prices one profile:

  • Car: 308CC 1.6 Turbo Sport, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: at an authorised workshop, no add-ons

How many insurers quote

Only 7 insurers give an online price for this car. Nine on our panel do not. Most of them have no online price for the model yet, and one does not list it on its online quote. The price page gives each reason.

With so few online prices, you may want to ask other insurers for a quote directly. A missing online price does not always mean an insurer will not cover the car.

The range

The lowest premium is S$1,007.77 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$2,269.21, which is S$1,261.44 more, or 125% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

The excess

Most plans carry an excess of S$600. One carries S$500, the plans marked as estimates carry S$800, one carries S$2,500, and one has none. A lower premium with a higher excess can cost you more if you claim.

What changes the price

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,257.90, S$250.13 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,257.90, S$250.13 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,257.90, S$250.13 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,101.28, S$93.51 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$1,038.08, S$30.31 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$932.41, S$75.36 less

The pattern here is worth a close look. Losing your NCD raises the lowest price by 25%. The no-NCD, 20% NCD and young-driver lines all land on the same lowest price. An older driver pays more here, not the same, and one fewer insurer prices that driver. An older car is cheaper to insure at the lowest price.

These are lowest prices only, and the insurer offering the lowest price can change from line to line.

Against similar cars

The price page compares six similar cars for the same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$724.93. The 308CC, at S$1,007.77, is 39% above it. All six cost less to insure for this driver. Each of them is also priced online by more insurers. For other Peugeots, see the Peugeot car insurance page.

Costs that depend on the owner

  • Parking: your season parking at home, plus parking at work and when out. Rates vary by block and building.
  • Petrol: depends on your mileage and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and when you travel.
  • Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule. Ask for the service history on a used car, and check where parts and repairs can be done.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay, the COE years left and what the car fetches later.

Summary of yearly costs we can show
