Peugeot 308 SW Allure Puretech in Singapore, the yearly bills

The yearly bills for a Peugeot 308 SW Allure Puretech 1.2 in Singapore: road tax, its COE category rule and car insurance prices for one driver.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

Most of what a Peugeot 308 SW Allure Puretech costs you each year comes in a few bills: road tax, car insurance and, behind the purchase price, the COE. This page puts a figure on each where the facts allow. Then it covers the costs that depend on your own use.

Insurance figures here were read on 20 October 2026 for one stated driver. They are examples, not a quote, and your own price will depend on your details.

Which version this covers

The new-car list we read has no 308 SW Allure Puretech on sale, so no list price appears here. Our quote form prices a single version, the 308 SW Allure Puretech 1.2, with a 1,199cc engine. All the figures below are for that car.

COE: the category question

For the 308 SW Allure Puretech 1.2, with a 1,199cc engine, the COE category turns on power:

  • Category A: if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. The October 2026 1st round closed at S$130,001.
  • Category B: if its power is above that. The same round closed at S$130,100.

These premiums are set afresh at every bidding round. When you buy used, the COE is already on the car. Its remaining years affect the price you are asked. Find the newest results on the COE page.

Road tax each year

The 1,199cc engine pays S$507.72 a year in road tax under LTA's formula, before any age surcharge.

A car past 10 years old pays a surcharge, which grows each year:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

So the same car costs more to tax each year once it passes that age. The road tax page has other engine sizes.

Car insurance, by the numbers

The Peugeot 308 SW Allure Puretech price page uses this profile:

  • Car: 308 SW Allure Puretech 1.2, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: at an authorised workshop, no add-ons

Thirteen insurers, a wide range

For that profile, 13 insurers quote online. The lowest premium is S$545.00 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,370.91: S$825.91 more, or 152% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Three insurers on our panel do not yet have an online price for this model. The price page lists them.

Excess and estimates

The excess is the slice of each claim you pay. S$600 is the most common excess on the page. A few plans set it at S$500, S$750 or S$800, one at S$2,500, and one at nothing. Read each premium with its excess beside it.

Some premiums on the page are marked as estimates. Confirm those on the insurer's own site, where you finish buying.

Five things that change the premium

The price page holds everything steady but one detail and shows the new lowest price:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,098.76, S$553.76 more
  • 20% NCD: S$903.53, S$358.53 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,010.22, S$465.22 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$545.00, the same
  • A new car, registered this year: S$552.91, S$7.91 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$545.00, the same

What stands out:

  • NCD: going from 50% to none makes the lowest price 102% higher.
  • Younger drivers: the 27-year-old with 30% NCD pays S$465.22 more than the standard driver.
  • Car age: an 8-year-old car costs the same to insure as a 3-year-old one at the lowest price, and a new car only S$7.91 more.
  • Older drivers: the driver aged 65 pays the same lowest price, though 12 insurers price that driver against 13 for the standard one.

Only the lowest price is shown in each line. Dearer plans may change by more or less.

Six similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page gives these lowest prices:

On average, their lowest price is S$688.21. The 308 SW Allure Puretech sits 21% under that, at S$545.00, and none of the six costs less to insure. The Peugeot car insurance page lists the other Peugeots we price.

The variable costs

These depend on how and where you use the car:

  • Parking: season parking where you live, plus the office, malls and roadside lots. HDB and condo rates differ.
  • Petrol: your mileage times the pump price.
  • ERP: the gantries on your routes and the times you pass them.
  • Servicing and repairs: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over the years. For a used car, ask for the service history and any warranty papers.
  • Depreciation: the gap between what you pay and what the car later fetches, which the COE years left will shape.

Yearly figures in brief

  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$1,098.76
