The Opel Zafira Tourer C uses a 1,362cc turbo engine. That keeps its road tax moderate, and its power decides which COE category applies. This guide sets out road tax, the COE and car insurance for several drivers.
The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They show where the market sits. Your own price depends on your details.
The Tourer C we price
Our quote form prices the Zafira Tourer C 1.4 Turbo, with a 1,362cc engine. It is the version most insurers quote, and the only one here.
The new-car list read for this guide has no Zafira Tourer C on sale now. So there is no list price, power figure or body type.
COE
For the Zafira Tourer C 1.4 Turbo, with its 1,362cc engine, the category depends on power:
- Category A: 97kW (130bhp) or less. S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round.
- Category B: more than that. S$130,100 in the same round.
Check the power on the car's papers to see which applies. A used car keeps its COE until it expires. The COE page has the latest results.
Road tax
LTA's formula gives the 1,362cc engine S$603.32 a year before any age surcharge. That was checked on 2026-10-19.
The surcharge for older cars:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The road tax page has the formula.
Car insurance for the standard driver
The Opel Zafira Tourer C price page prices this case:
- Car: Zafira Tourer C 1.4 Turbo, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons
13 insurers price it, across 19 plans. The lowest premium is S$742.90, on a plan that allows any workshop or an authorised one. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,350.31. That is S$607.41 more, or 82% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
Three insurers on the panel have no online price for this model. The other 13 give a good spread to compare.
Excess
Ten of the 19 plans carry an S$600 excess. Three carry S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. One carries none. No plan here asks for more than S$800, so the excess varies less than on many cars.
The three plans after the lowest, at S$914.76, S$956.90 and S$1,009.39, all carry S$600. Four plans are estimates, which can change once your details are in.
How the price moves
The price page shows the lowest price with one change at a time:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,232.11, S$489.21 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,232.11, S$489.21 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years of driving, 30% NCD: S$1,232.11, S$489.21 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years of driving: S$742.90, the same
- New car, registered this year: S$764.82, S$21.92 more
- Car 8 years old: S$666.79, S$76.11 less
NCD: with none, the lowest price is 66% higher. This is the change that costs most.
A young driver: aged 27 with 30% NCD, the lowest price matches the no-NCD figure.
An older driver: aged 65 with a long record, no change, with one fewer insurer quoting.
Car age: an 8-year-old car costs less to insure at the lowest price, and a new one a little more.
These are lowest prices only; dearer plans may move differently.
