The Nissan Teana was sold in Singapore with many engine sizes, from 1,997cc up to 3,498cc. The one most insurers quote is the 2.0L, and that is the car this guide prices. It covers road tax, the COE category and car insurance for several drivers.
The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not a quote for you.
Teana versions on our quote form
The new-car list read for this guide has no Teana on sale now, so there is no list price, power figure or body type here. Our quote form lists seven versions:
- Teana 2.0L: 1,997cc
- Teana 200XL: 1,997cc
- Teana 2.5L: 2,488cc
- Teana 250XL Four J32: 2,488cc
- Teana 250 XV (A): 2,495cc
- Teana 250XV J32: 2,496cc
- Teana 350: 3,498cc
The price page prices the Teana 2.0L. All figures below are for that car. The larger engines pay more road tax, and their premiums may differ.
The COE
The Teana 2.0L's 1,997cc engine is above 1,600cc, so it needs a Category B COE. In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100.
On a used Teana, the COE is already attached. The question is how long it has left. The COE page has the latest results.
Road tax
LTA's formula gives the 1,997cc engine S$1,208.58 a year, before any age surcharge. That was checked on 2026-10-19.
The surcharge for older cars:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The 2.5 and 350 versions start from higher bases. Look them up on the road tax page.
Car insurance for the standard driver
The Nissan Teana price page prices this case:
- Car: Teana 2.0L, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons
15 insurers price it, across 25 plans. The lowest premium is S$721.59, on a plan that allows any workshop or an authorised one. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,383.22. That is S$661.63 more, or 92% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
Only one insurer on the panel has no online price for the Teana. There are several plans close to the lowest, with the next few between S$842.55 and S$875.08.
Excess
Twelve of the 25 plans carry an S$600 excess. Three carry S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. Three carry S$2,500, one S$3,000 and one none. Four plans are estimates.
Among the plans near the bottom, most carry S$600, but the one at S$875.08 carries S$2,500. Read the excess with each premium.
How the price changes
The price page shows the lowest price with one change at a time:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,111.36, S$389.77 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,111.36, S$389.77 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years of driving, 30% NCD: S$1,111.36, S$389.77 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years of driving: S$721.59, the same
- New car, registered this year: S$742.90, S$21.31 more
- Car 8 years old: S$660.69, S$60.90 less
With no NCD, the lowest price is 54% higher, the largest change shown. The young-driver line comes out at the same figure.
For a 65-year-old with a long record, the lowest price holds, with one fewer insurer quoting. An older Teana is cheaper to insure at the lowest price, and a new one a little dearer.
These are lowest prices only. Other plans may move by different amounts.
