Nissan Qashqai costs in Singapore, and how it compares on insurance

The Nissan Qashqai in Singapore: list price, COE rule, road tax of S$585.72 and dated insurance prices set against six similar cars.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

For the standard driver on its price page, the Qashqai costs less to insure than every one of the six similar cars it is compared with. That makes it a useful case to look at closely. This guide goes through what a Qashqai costs on each line, then how it sits against those rivals.

The insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own price depends on your details. Read these as a guide to scale, not a quote.

The Qashqai on sale

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 shows one Qashqai, an SUV made in the UK:

  • Qashqai Mild Hybrid 1.3 Turbo Prestige: petrol-electric, 1,332cc, 156bhp

Our quote form lists older versions too, with engines of 1,197cc, 1,598cc and 1,997cc, plus the Qashqai+2. The insurance figures are for the Qashqai 1.3 DIG-T, 1,332cc, the version most insurers on our panel quote.

List price

As listed on 2026-10-10, the 1.3 Turbo Prestige was S$234,800, COE included. That figure moves with each COE round. When you have offers in hand, check what each one includes before you compare.

COE

For the 1.3 DIG-T with its 1,332cc engine, the price page gives the rule. It needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less, and a Category B COE if it is more.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. The COE page shows each round as it closes.

Road tax

The 1,332cc engine puts road tax at S$585.72 a year under LTA's formula, before any age surcharge.

The surcharge on cars over 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

Older Qashqai versions with other engine sizes pay a different base rate. The road tax page has them.

Insurance for the standard driver

The Nissan Qashqai price page prices this profile:

  • Car: Qashqai 1.3 DIG-T, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

14 insurers give a price. The lowest is S$590.12 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,375.13, S$785.01 more, or 133% on top. All prices include 9% GST. Two insurers on our panel have no online price for the Qashqai yet.

Excess

Most plans here carry a S$600 excess, the part of a claim you pay. The range is S$0 to S$3,000. The lowest-priced plan allows any workshop or an authorised one.

When the driver or the car changes

The price page's lowest prices with one detail changed:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,161.94, S$571.82 more
  • 20% NCD: S$993.88, S$403.76 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,111.24, S$521.12 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$590.12, the same
  • New car, registered this year: S$608.20, S$18.08 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$545.00, S$45.12 less

The NCD is the big lever on this car. Without it, the lowest price is 97% higher, close to double. A young driver also pays far more. These are lowest prices only.
