Nissan Note in Singapore, list price, road tax and insurance costs

The Nissan Note in Singapore: the e-POWER list price as listed on 2026-10-10, COE category, road tax and dated insurance prices for several drivers.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Nissan Note is a small hatchback that is still on the new-car list, so you can buy one new as well as used. This guide covers the costs the facts can show. They are the list price, the COE category, road tax and car insurance.

Insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. The list price is as listed on 2026-10-10. Neither is a quote for you.

The versions

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one version of the Note on sale, a hatchback made in Japan:

  • Note e-POWER Hybrid Premium: petrol-electric, 1,198cc, 114bhp

Our quote form prices the Note 1.2, with a 1,198cc engine, the version most insurers quote. All insurance figures below are for that car.

The price to buy new

As listed on 2026-10-10, with COE included in the list price that day:

  • Note e-POWER Hybrid Premium: S$194,800

List prices move with each COE round. A price quoted to you now may differ. When you compare offers, check what each one includes.

The COE

For the Note 1.2, with its 1,198cc engine, the COE category depends on power:

  • Category A: if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less
  • Category B: if it is more

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. These change every round. The COE page has the latest.

Road tax

LTA's formula gives a 1,198cc engine S$507.12 a year before any age surcharge. That was checked on 2026-10-19.

The surcharge starts once a car is more than 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has the formula for other engines.

Car insurance for the standard driver

The Nissan Note price page prices one case:

  • Car: Note 1.2, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

15 insurers price it, across 25 plans. The lowest premium is S$545.00, on a plan that allows any workshop or an authorised one. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,187.17. That is S$642.17 more, or 118% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Only one insurer on the panel has no online price for the Note. So almost the whole panel is open to compare.

The excess

Twelve of the 25 plans carry an S$600 excess. Three carry S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. Three carry S$2,500, one S$3,000 and one none.

The second-lowest premium, S$700.26, carries an S$2,500 excess. The third, S$710.76, carries S$500. Four plans are estimates. Look at both numbers before you choose.

How the price moves

The price page shows the lowest price with one change at a time:

  • No NCD (0%): S$934.41, S$389.41 more
  • 20% NCD: S$903.53, S$358.53 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years of driving, 30% NCD: S$934.41, S$389.41 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years of driving: S$545.00, the same
  • New car, registered this year: S$552.91, S$7.91 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$545.00, the same

NCD: the lowest price is 71% higher with no NCD. Even 20% leaves you S$358.53 above the standard figure.

A young driver: aged 27 with 30% NCD, the lowest price matches the no-NCD figure.

An older driver: pays the same, though one fewer insurer quotes.

Car age: hardly moves the price. A new Note costs S$7.91 more at the lowest price, and an 8-year-old one the same as a 3-year-old one.

These are lowest prices only.

Against similar cars

The price page compares six cars with similar engines, same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$693.58. The Note is 21% below it, and none of the six is cheaper to insure. The C-HR comes closest. Other Nissan models are on the Nissan car insurance page, and the cheapest cars to insure page lists more.

Costs that depend on you

These vary too much to give one figure:

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus parking elsewhere
  • Petrol: your mileage and the pump price; the e-POWER version uses an electric motor as well as its petrol engine
  • ERP: your routes and times
  • Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule; ask what the warranty and any service package cover on a new car
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay and what the car fetches later

Summary of yearly costs we can show
