Mitsubishi Attrage car insurance in Singapore, what the prices show

A review of car insurance for the Mitsubishi Attrage in Singapore: the spread of premiums, excesses, how drivers and car age move the price, and road tax.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Mitsubishi Attrage is a small car with a 1,193cc engine. The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 had no Attrage on sale. So if you have one, or are looking at a used one, the question is what it costs to keep. This review looks mostly at car insurance, then at road tax and the COE.

Here is what you will pay, in example form. Every figure is for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own price will depend on your details.

Here's what the standard driver pays

The Mitsubishi Attrage price page prices one case:

  • Car: Mitsubishi Attrage, 1,193cc, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

15 insurers price it online. Only one on our panel does not have an online price for it yet.

  • Lowest premium: S$622.34
  • Dearest lowest plan: at least S$1,190.45
  • The gap: S$568.11, or 91% on top

All prices include 9% GST. For one small car and one driver, that gap is the main reason to compare.

The excess on each plan

The excess is what you pay towards each claim before the insurer pays the rest. On this page:

  • Most plans: S$500 or S$600
  • Some plans: S$750 or S$800
  • A few plans: S$2,500 or S$3,000
  • One plan: S$0

The second-lowest premium, at S$727.02, comes with a S$2,500 excess. So check the excess before you pick a low premium.

Plans and tiers

Several insurers price more than one plan for the Attrage. The names give a clue: collision only, lite, value, standard, premium and prestige tiers all appear. Between tiers from one insurer, the gap can run to a few hundred dollars. Before paying for a higher tier, check what it adds, such as cover for a replacement car or a lower excess.

Some prices are marked as estimates. They come from a published table rather than a live quote, so your quote may differ.

How the price moves

The price page shows the lowest price with one thing changed:

  • No NCD (0%): S$932.05, S$309.71 more
  • 20% NCD: S$932.05, S$309.71 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$932.05, S$309.71 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$622.34, the same
  • A new car, registered this year: S$642.42, S$20.08 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$569.36, S$52.98 less

NCD. Going from 50% to none raises the lowest price by 50%. A 20% NCD gives the same figure.

Young drivers. A 27-year-old with 3 years' driving and a 30% NCD lands at the same S$932.05.

Older drivers. At 65, the lowest price is unchanged.

Car age. An 8-year-old Attrage is cheaper to insure than a 3-year-old one at this lowest price.

These are lowest prices only. Dearer plans may move by more or less.

Pros and cons for insurance cost

Pros

  • A low starting premium: S$622.34 for the standard driver.
  • Wide choice: 15 insurers price it online.
  • Older cars cost less: the 8-year-old line comes in lower.
  • Older drivers pay no more: the 65-year-old line matches the standard case.

Cons

  • A wide spread: the dearest lowest plan is 91% above the lowest.
  • NCD matters a lot: losing it costs S$309.71 at the lowest price.
  • Some low prices carry high excesses: up to S$3,000 on this page.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

They average S$688.21. The Attrage sits 10% below that. Two of them are cheaper to insure, and the Jazz matches it. More Mitsubishi models are on the Mitsubishi car insurance page.

Road tax and COE

Road tax for the 1,193cc engine is S$504.20 a year under LTA's formula, checked on 2026-10-19. That is before any age surcharge. An older Attrage pays more:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page works out other engine sizes.

For the COE, the price page says the Attrage, with a 1,193cc engine, needs Category A if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less, and Category B if it is more. In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. A used car keeps the COE it carries until it runs out. See the COE page for the latest round.

What to check on a plan

  • Excess: the sum you pay on each claim.
  • Workshop: whether repairs must go to an authorised workshop.
  • NCD protection: whether one claim would cut your discount.
  • Named drivers: who else may drive the car under the policy.
  • Estimate or live price: confirm the final quote.

Other costs

Parking at your HDB block or condo, petrol, ERP, servicing and depreciation all depend on how you use the car. They have no single figure, so estimate them from your own routine.

Summary of yearly costs we can show

For the Mitsubishi Attrage, dated as shown:

  • Road tax: S$504.20 a year, before any age surcharge (checked 2026-10-19)
  • Insurance, standard driver: from S$622.34 a year (20 October 2026)
  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$932.05
  • Insurance, a car 8 years old: from S$569.36

The bottom line

For a settled driver with a full NCD, the Attrage is low-cost to insure, and many insurers price it. The spread between them is wide, so the price you pay depends on where you buy. Losing your NCD moves the price more than any other change here.
