The GLC300 M-Hybrid AMG Line adds a mild-hybrid system to the GLC300, with a 1,999cc engine. In Singapore, its yearly bills come from the same few items as any petrol car. This guide lays out each cost and what moves it.
The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They let you compare. They are not your quote.
The version on our form
The new-car list has no entry for this version now. So this guide gives no list price, power figure or body type.
Our quote form prices the GLC300 M-Hybrid AMG Line, with a 1,999cc engine. It is the version most of our insurers quote.
Category B COE
At 1,999cc, the engine is above 1,600cc. The car needs a Category B COE, which closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.
If you buy one used, the COE is already paid. Its remaining years are part of what the seller asks. Check how many there are. The COE page has later results.
Road tax
LTA's formula sets road tax for a 1,999cc engine at S$1,210.92 a year, before any age surcharge. The mild-hybrid system does not change the basis: it is still the engine size that counts.
Beyond 10 years, the surcharge applies:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The road tax page shows the formula.
Insurance: what the example shows
The Mercedes-Benz GLC300 M-Hybrid AMG Line price page prices this case:
- Car: GLC300 M-Hybrid AMG Line, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% NCD, no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons
11 insurers quote it. The lowest premium is S$1,046.37 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,742.75, S$696.38 more. In percentage terms, that is 67% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
That gap is several hundred dollars a year, and it repeats every year you renew. Five insurers on our panel have no online price for this model, and several prices shown are estimates.
Excess
Most plans here carry S$600, the lowest included. Others carry S$500, S$750 or S$800. One plan has none, and one asks S$2,500. Your excess is the part of a claim you pay. A plan with a high one can cost more than it seems.
Comparing plans fairly
The page lists more than one plan from several insurers. The fuller plans cost more and may include more. To compare insurers, line up plans of a similar level rather than each insurer's lowest and highest.
What the price does when one thing changes
- No NCD (0%): S$1,334.14, up S$287.77
- 20% NCD: S$1,334.14, up S$287.77
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,334.14, up S$287.77
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,143.46, up S$97.09
- A new car, registered this year: S$1,077.85, up S$31.48
- A car 8 years old: S$995.98, down S$50.39
Losing the NCD lifts the lowest price by 28%. A 20% NCD gives no help at the lowest price here: it lands on the same figure. The older driver pays a little more. The 8-year-old car costs less. These are lowest prices only; other plans may move differently.
Next to six similar cars
For the same driver and car age:
- Toyota Harrier: S$742.90
- BMW 5 Series: S$861.03
- Toyota Voxy: S$793.75
- Lexus NX: S$972.39
- Lexus RX: S$972.39
- BMW 3 Series: S$1,009.11
Their average lowest price is S$891.93. The GLC300 M-Hybrid is 17% above it, and all six cost less to insure. So for this driver, insurance is a cost where the GLC runs higher than its rivals. The Mercedes-Benz car insurance page links the other models.
Hybrid or non-hybrid GLC300
If you are choosing between the two, look up both on the quote form with your own details. Road tax follows engine size, so check the engine on each car's log card. The insurance prices can differ by version too, so price the exact car rather than relying on a figure for a sister model. Then weigh the parts of the cost that no figure here covers, such as the asking price and the COE years left on each car.
Costs that depend on you
The next few costs depend on where you live, how far you drive and how long you keep the car. Plan for each one with your own habits in mind.
- Parking: season parking at home and work, plus trips out.
- Petrol: depends on your distance and the pump price. The mild-hybrid system works with the petrol engine.
- ERP: your routes and travel times.
- Servicing: follow the maker's schedule. Ask about the hybrid parts and any warranty that still applies.
- Depreciation: what you pay against what the car fetches when you sell.
