The GLB-Class is the Mercedes-Benz SUV with a third row of seats, which makes it a family choice in Singapore. Its versions range from a 1,332cc GLB200 to the 1,991cc GLB35 AMG. This guide sets out the costs we can put figures on: the list price, the COE, road tax and car insurance. It ends with the costs that depend on you.
The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own price will depend on your details. These figures are for comparison.
Versions
The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one version on sale, an SUV made in Mexico:
- GLB200 AMG Line Premium 7-Seater: petrol, 1,332cc, 161bhp
Our quote form lists eight versions, all seven-seaters:
- GLB200 in Sport, AMG Line, AMG Line Premium and AMG Line Premium Plus trims: 1,332cc
- GLB250 in 4MATIC, AMG Line 4MATIC and Sport trims: 1,991cc
- GLB35 AMG 4MATIC Premium Plus: 1,991cc
The insurance figures below are for the GLB35 AMG 4MATIC Premium Plus, the version most of our insurers quote. That is the top version, not the GLB200 on sale now.
List price
As listed on 2026-10-10, the GLB200 AMG Line Premium 7-Seater was S$277,000, including COE as listed that day.
List prices change with each COE round. Compare what each dealer's offer includes before you compare totals.
COE
For the GLB35 AMG, with its 1,991cc engine above 1,600cc, the price page gives a Category B COE. That closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.
The price page does not state a category for the 1,332cc GLB200, so confirm it with the dealer. The COE page has the latest results.
Road tax
For the 1,991cc engine in the GLB35 and GLB250, LTA's formula gives S$1,201.54 a year, before any age surcharge.
The surcharge comes in after 10 years:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The 1,332cc GLB200 pays less. Look up its figure on the road tax page.
Car insurance for the GLB35 AMG
The Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class price page prices one example:
- Car: GLB35 AMG 4MATIC Premium Plus 7-Seater, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no options
Only 7 insurers price this car online. Nine on our panel do not. The lowest premium is S$1,112.76 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$2,633.35. That is S$1,520.59 more, or 137% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
So the dearest lowest plan costs more than twice the lowest. With so few insurers online, it is worth asking others too. Some prices shown are estimates.
Excess
The lowest plan carries a S$600 excess. The second-lowest asks S$3,000, and others ask S$2,500. The rest sit at S$500, S$600 or S$800, with one plan at none. On this page, the excess varies a lot between plans of a similar price, so read it with care.
How the price moves
The lowest price with one change:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,593.57, S$480.81 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,381.11, S$268.35 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,593.57, S$480.81 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,100.36, S$12.40 less
- A new car, registered this year: S$1,135.24, S$22.48 more
- A car 8 years old: S$953.72, S$159.04 less
Without the NCD, the lowest price is 43% higher. Unusually, the older driver pays slightly less than the 40-year-old. An 8-year-old car costs much less to insure. These are lowest prices only; other plans may move by different sums.
Against similar cars
For the same driver and car age, the price page compares:
- Toyota Harrier: S$742.90
- BMW 5 Series: S$861.03
- Toyota Voxy: S$793.75
- Lexus NX: S$972.39
- Lexus RX: S$972.39
- BMW 3 Series: S$1,009.11
Their average lowest price is S$891.93. The GLB35 AMG is 25% above that, and all six cost less to insure. The top GLB is a dear car to insure for its engine size. The GLB200 may well be priced differently. The Mercedes-Benz car insurance page has the other models.
Picking a version
The GLB200 and the GLB35 AMG differ on engine size, list price and likely insurance cost. Price the exact version you want on the quote form. The road tax for the 1,991cc versions is the figure above. The 1,332cc versions pay less.
Costs that depend on you
- Parking: season parking at home and work, and wherever the family goes.

- ERP: depends on your routes and timing, including school runs.
- Servicing: follow the maker's schedule. Ask what the warranty and any service package cover.
