What the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe costs in Singapore

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe in Singapore: the list price as listed, Category B COE, road tax and dated car insurance prices for the E300.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The E-Class Coupe is the two-door take on Mercedes-Benz's executive car. Buyers in Singapore weigh it against other premium coupes and saloons. This guide lays out its costs as figures you can check: the list price, the COE, road tax and car insurance.

The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own premium will depend on your details. These figures show how the costs compare.

The version on sale

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one version, filed as a sports car made in Germany:

  • E-Class Coupe Mild Hybrid E300 AMG Line Night Edition Premium Plus: petrol-electric, 1,991cc, 268bhp

Our quote form has four versions. Two E300s share the 1,991cc engine. The E53 AMG 4MATIC+ and the E450 AMG Line 4MATIC have 2,999cc engines. The insurance figures are for the E300 AMG Line Night Edition Premium Plus, the version most of our insurers quote.

List price

As listed on 2026-10-10, the E300 was S$354,900, including COE as listed that day.

That figure moves with each COE round. A dealer's price today may be different. When you compare offers, check what each includes.

COE

The E300's 1,991cc engine is above 1,600cc, so it needs a Category B COE. In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100.

Results change every round. The COE page has the latest.

Road tax

LTA's formula sets road tax on the 1,991cc engine at S$1,201.54 a year, before any age surcharge.

If you keep the car past 10 years, the surcharge applies:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The 2,999cc versions pay more. The road tax page shows by how much.

Insurance for the stated driver

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe price page prices this example:

  • Car: E300 Coupe, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% NCD, no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

10 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$886.98 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,554.61. That is S$667.63 more, or 75% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

So the dearer end of the range costs close to double the lowest. Six insurers on our panel have no online price for this model, so there may be other prices to find by asking. Some prices shown are estimates.

The excess you would pay

Most plans here carry S$600, including the lowest. Some carry S$500 or S$800. One plan has none. Several others ask S$2,500 or S$3,000. You pay this on each claim, so a plan with a high excess may cost you more over time.

Plans within one insurer

Several insurers offer more than one plan on this page. Their lower plans and top plans can be hundreds of dollars apart. The top plans often add more cover. Read the plan details before you decide a higher price is worse value.

How the price changes

Here is the lowest price with one change:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,424.24, S$537.26 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,388.02, S$501.04 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,424.24, S$537.26 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$969.28, S$82.30 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$913.66, S$26.68 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$844.26, S$42.72 less

Losing your NCD lifts the lowest price by 61%. Even a 20% NCD is only a little better than none. The older driver pays more than the 40-year-old. The newer car costs a little more, and the older one a little less. These are lowest prices only; other plans can move by different amounts.

Next to similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page compares:

Their average lowest price is S$891.93. The E-Class Coupe is 1% below that, and three of the six cost less to insure. So it sits right in the middle of the group. The Mercedes-Benz car insurance page has the other models.

If you are buying used

An older E-Class Coupe changes some of these figures. The COE years left shape the price. A car past 10 years pays the road tax surcharge. And the insurance list shows that an 8-year-old car costs a little less to insure. Check the first registration date and the engine size on the log card before you compare.

Costs that depend on you

  • Parking: season parking at home and work, and parking when you go out.
  • Petrol: your distance and the pump price. The mild-hybrid system works with the petrol engine.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and timing.
  • Servicing: follow the maker's schedule. Ask what the warranty and any service package include.
  • Depreciation: the value the car loses over the COE years, which depends on what you pay and what it fetches later.

Summary of the figures

For the E-Class Coupe E300:

  • Road tax: S$1,201.54 a year, before any age surcharge (LTA's formula, checked 2026-10-19)

  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$1,424.24
