You will find the CLA200 Coupe AMG on the used market in Singapore. It pairs a 1,332cc engine with AMG styling. This guide sets out what keeping one costs, so you can see which bills are fixed and which depend on you.
Each insurance figure here is an example for a single stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. It helps you compare. Your own price will depend on your details.
Which car is priced
The new-car list has no entry for this version on sale now. So there is no list price, power figure or body type in this guide.
The quote form prices the CLA200 COUPE AMG with its 1,332cc petrol engine, the version most of our insurers quote.
The COE
For a 1,332cc engine, power decides the category:
- 97kW (130bhp) or less: Category A, which closed at S$130,001 in the October 2026 1st round
- More than that: Category B, which closed at S$130,100 in the same round
A used car comes with its COE already paid. What matters to you is how many years are left on it. Bidding results change every round; see the COE page.
Road tax
Under LTA's formula, the 1,332cc engine pays S$585.72 a year, before any surcharge for age.
The surcharge comes in after 10 years:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
A car near those ages will cost more to tax each year. The road tax page explains the bands.
Insurance: the example and the spread
The Mercedes-Benz CLA200 Coupe AMG price page uses these details:
- Car: CLA200 Coupe AMG, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
- Record: 50% NCD, no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, nothing added
13 insurers price the car. The lowest premium is S$767.38. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest wants at least S$1,324.39, S$557.01 more, which is 73% on top. Prices include 9% GST.
The difference between the low end and the high end is a few hundred dollars a year, every year you keep the car. A few figures on the page are estimates, so check them with the insurer.
The plan names give a clue to what sits inside each price. Some are a basic comprehensive plan. Others sit higher in an insurer's range and may add extras. The lowest-priced plan from one insurer and the top plan from another are not the same product. Read the plan details on the price page before you compare them.
Mind the excess
Most plans here have a S$600 excess. Some have S$500 or S$800. One has no excess, and one has S$2,500. You pay the excess before any claim is settled, so a cheap plan with a high excess is not always cheap.
Three insurers on our panel do not have an online price for this model.
Changing one thing at a time
The price page reprices with a single change:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,143.63, S$376.25 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,143.63, S$376.25 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,143.63, S$376.25 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$787.96, S$20.58 more
- A new car, registered this year: S$790.47, S$23.09 more
- A car 8 years old: S$721.59, S$45.79 less
Of these, losing the NCD hurts most, adding 49% to the lowest price. The age-65 driver and the brand-new car each add about S$20. The older car saves a little. Bear in mind that these are lowest prices only.
Similar cars, same driver
The price page lines up six similar cars:
- Mazda 3: S$927.36
- Toyota Sienta: S$604.07
- BMW X1: S$811.71
- Honda Freed: S$642.42
- Honda Vezel: S$824.33
- Honda HR-V: S$642.42
The six average S$742.05. The CLA200 Coupe AMG is 3% above, and three of them cost less to insure. That puts it level with the middle of the pack. See the Mercedes-Benz car insurance page for the rest of the range.
Questions to ask before buying
- When was it first registered? That date sets the road tax surcharge and the COE years left.
- Is the engine the 1,332cc one? A different engine means different road tax and possibly a different premium.
- What servicing has been done? On an older car, records tell you what is due next.
- What will your own quote be? Your age, NCD and experience shift the price, as the list above shows.
Costs set by how you live
Some bills depend on your habits more than on the car. They have no fixed figure, but you should still plan for them.
- Parking: season parking at your home and office, plus visits.
- Petrol: your mileage and the pump price.
- ERP: which gantries you pass and when.
- Wear items: tyres, brakes, a battery and servicing to the maker's schedule.
- Depreciation: what you pay against what the car fetches when you sell, over the COE years you keep it.
