Lexus LS costs in Singapore, a large engine and a low premium

Lexus LS costs in Singapore: the 500h list price as listed on 2026-10-10, road tax for a 3,456cc engine, Category B COE for the LS 350 and insurance.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Lexus LS has two sides to its running costs in Singapore. Its large engine brings a high road tax bill. Yet for the example driver, it is cheaper to insure than every similar car on our price page. This page sets out both, with the list price and the COE.

The new-car list figure is for the LS 500h. The insurance and COE figures are for the LS 350 on our quote form. Each section says which version it covers. Insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026.

The versions

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one LS on sale, listed under luxury cars and made in Japan:

  • LS Hybrid 3.5 V6 500h Luxury: petrol-electric, 3,456cc, 353bhp

Our quote form lists two versions:

  • LS 350: 3,456cc
  • LS 600h: 4,969cc

The insurance figures below are for the LS 350, the version most insurers quote.

List price

As listed on 2026-10-10, with COE included in the list price that day:

  • LS Hybrid 3.5 V6 500h Luxury: S$842,800

List prices change with each COE round. A dealer's figure today may differ, so check what each offer includes.

COE

The price page's COE section covers the LS 350. With a 3,456cc engine, above 1,600cc, it needs a Category B COE. That category closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.

The page gives no category for the 500h, so we state none for it. The COE page has the latest results.

Road tax

For a 3,456cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$3,098.28 a year, before any age surcharge. The LS 350 and the new 500h share that engine size. The LS 600h's engine is larger still.

The age surcharge, for cars over 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

Road tax is the largest yearly figure we can show for this car. The road tax page shows how it rises with engine size.

Insurance for the example driver

The Lexus LS price page prices this case:

  • Car: LS 350, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

Only 9 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$933.67. The insurer with the dearest lowest plan asks at least S$2,333.11. That is S$1,399.44 more, or 150% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Seven insurers that price cars online have no online price for the LS. For one, the model is not on its online quote. Another prices only electric cars online. The rest have no online price for it yet. With fewer quotes in the field, each one counts.

Excess

The excess is what you pay on each claim. Eight of the 16 plans on this page carry S$600, and three ask S$800. Three ask S$2,500, one asks S$3,000 and one has none. Read the excess with the premium before you decide.

How the price changes

The price page reprices the car with one change:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,825.25, S$891.58 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,461.09, S$527.42 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,887.69, S$954.02 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,020.32, S$86.65 more
  • New car, registered this year: S$961.76, S$28.09 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$888.71, S$44.96 less

Here the younger driver costs the most. A 27-year-old with 3 years' driving and 30% NCD pushes the lowest price up by 102%. Having no NCD at all is close behind. Each step of the NCD counts, as 20% and 0% give quite different prices.

The car's age matters much less. A new car adds S$28.09 and an 8-year-old one takes off S$44.96. The 65-year-old pays a little more than the base driver. These are lowest prices only.

So if a younger family member will drive the LS, ask for quotes with them named. On this car, that one detail can double the lowest price.

Against similar cars

The price page compares six similar cars for the same driver and car age:

They average S$1,242.89. The LS costs 25% less, and none of the six is cheaper to insure for this driver. The BMW 7 Series comes closest. Other Lexus models are on the Lexus car insurance page.

Costs that depend on you

  • Parking: season parking at home and work. Check that your car park's lots suit the car.
  • Petrol: depends on distance and pump prices. The 500h pairs petrol with an electric motor.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and times.
  • Servicing and repairs: ask what the warranty and any service package cover on a new car, or for the records on a used one.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay and what the car fetches later.
