The Lexus IS200t has its own entry on our quote form, separate from the wider IS range. If you are looking at one on the used market, this page sets out the costs we can show: the COE, road tax and car insurance. It also shows how much the insurance price can vary.
The new-car list has no IS200t on sale now. All insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your own premium will depend on your details.
The version we price
Our quote form lists one version:
- IS200t: 1,998cc
There is no list price, since the model has no new-car list entry. Every figure below is for the IS200t. Since the form carries only this one engine size, the road tax and COE notes below should fit any IS200t you are offered. Check the car's papers to be sure.
COE
The price page's COE section says the IS200t, with a 1,998cc engine, is above 1,600cc. It needs a Category B COE.
In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100. COE results move every round; the COE page has the latest. On a used IS200t, check the COE expiry date before you settle on a price.
Road tax
For a 1,998cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$1,209.76 a year, before any age surcharge.
Cars over 10 years old pay a surcharge on top:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The road tax page explains how the base figure is set by engine size.
Insurance for the example driver
The Lexus IS200t price page prices this case:
- Car: IS200t, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons
13 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$912.80. The insurer with the dearest lowest plan asks at least S$2,078.39. That is S$1,165.59 more, or 128% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
So the same driver could pay more than twice as much, depending on where the policy comes from. Three insurers that price cars online have no online price for the IS200t yet.
The excess
The excess is what you pay towards each claim. This page has a wider mix than many. Six of the 19 plans carry S$600. Three ask S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. Three ask S$2,500, one asks S$3,000 and one has no excess.
With fewer plans on a single figure, the excess needs a closer look here. Line up premium and excess together for every plan you consider.
How the price changes
The price page reprices the car with one change at a time:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,417.57, S$504.77 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,408.28, S$495.48 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,417.57, S$504.77 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$997.50, S$84.70 more
- New car, registered this year: S$910.63, S$2.17 less
- Car 8 years old: S$868.84, S$43.96 less
No NCD costs the most, with the lowest price 55% higher. A 20% NCD leaves it almost as high, at S$1,408.28. The younger driver lands on the same figure as the no-NCD case. The 65-year-old pays a little more than the base driver.
The car's age makes only a small difference. A new car is S$2.17 cheaper, and an 8-year-old one S$43.96 cheaper. These are lowest prices only. Dearer plans on the page may change by more or less than these amounts.
The insurer that is lowest also changes between rows. So the plan at the top of the page for the example driver may not be the one at the top for you. Compare with your real NCD, age and car age.
Against similar cars
The price page compares six similar cars for the same driver and car age:
- BMW 3 Series: S$1,009.11
- Mercedes-Benz GLC: S$925.60
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class: S$861.03
- BMW 5 Series: S$861.03
- Toyota Voxy: S$793.75
- Toyota Harrier: S$742.90
They average S$865.57. The IS200t costs 5% more. Four of the six are cheaper to insure; the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz GLC cost more. The wider IS range and other models are on the Lexus car insurance page.
Costs that depend on you
These vary between owners, so we give no figures:
- Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus parking at work and in town.
- Petrol: depends on how far you drive and the pump price.
- ERP: depends on your routes and the time of day.
- Servicing and repairs: on a used car, ask for the service history and what is due next.
- Depreciation: depends on what you pay and the COE life remaining.
