Jaguar XF yearly costs in Singapore for road tax and insurance

The Jaguar XF in Singapore: five versions on our form, Category B COE for the 2.0P, road tax and how insurance changes with NCD and driver age.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Jaguar XF came in several engine sizes over the years, and in Singapore that matters. Engine size sets road tax, and it can shift insurance too. This page sets out the costs we can show for the XF, version by version where the facts allow.

There is no XF on the new-car list, so you would be buying used. All insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Use them to compare, not as a quote.

Five versions on our form

Our quote form lists these:

  • XF 2.0P: 1,999cc
  • XF 2.2 Diesel Luxury: 2,179cc
  • XF 2.7D: 2,720cc
  • XF 3.0 V6: 2,967cc
  • XF 3.0L V6D 500: 2,993cc

The insurance figures below are for the 2.0P, the version most insurers quote. There is no list price to give, since the new-car list has no XF.

Before you rely on any figure here, check which engine the car you are looking at has. The road tax and COE figures below are for the 2.0P only.

COE category for the 2.0P

The price page's COE section says the XF 2.0P, with its 1,999cc engine, is above 1,600cc. It needs a Category B COE.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100. See the COE page for the latest results. On a used car, the COE expiry date is a big part of the value.

Road tax

For the 2.0P's 1,999cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$1,210.92 a year, before any age surcharge. The other four versions have larger engines, so their road tax is higher. The road tax page works it out by engine size.

The age surcharge applies once a car is more than 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

Insuring the XF 2.0P

The Jaguar XF price page uses this example:

  • Car: XF 2.0P, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

12 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$1,067.52. The insurer with the dearest lowest plan asks at least S$2,495.49, which is S$1,427.97 more, or 134% on top. Prices include 9% GST.

So the dearest lowest price is well over twice the lowest premium on the page. Four insurers that price cars online have no online price for the XF yet.

The excess

Every plan sets an excess: what you pay towards a claim. Of the 20 plans here, eight carry S$600. Two carry S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. At the high end, three ask S$2,500 and one S$3,000. One plan has no excess. Put the excess beside the premium when you compare.

What changes the premium

The price page shows the lowest premium when one detail changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,347.98, S$280.46 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,347.98, S$280.46 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,347.98, S$280.46 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,235.01, S$167.49 more
  • New car, registered this year: S$1,053.16, S$14.36 less
  • Car 8 years old: S$980.50, S$87.02 less

No NCD costs the most, adding 26% to the lowest price. The 65-year-old driver also pays noticeably more than the 40-year-old. On car age, the price falls both ways from the base case: a new car and an 8-year-old car are each cheaper than the 3-year-old one. These are lowest prices; dearer plans may move by other amounts.

If an older family member will be the main driver, ask for quotes in their name. On this car, the driver's age has a clear effect.

Against similar cars

The price page compares six similar cars at the same driver and car age:

They average S$867.25. The XF costs 23% more, and all six are cheaper to insure at these settings. The E-Class and 5 Series sit in the same part of the market, so they are the natural ones to compare. The Jaguar car insurance page has the rest of the make.

What depends on the owner

We give no figures for these:

  • Parking: season parking at home and work, plus parking in town.
  • Fuel: depends on how far you drive and the pump price. Some versions on the form are diesel.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and times.
  • Servicing and repairs: ask for the service record on a used car, and what work is due.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay and the COE years remaining.

Summary of yearly costs we can show
