Thinking about a used Jaguar XE in Singapore? Before the asking price, it helps to know the costs that come every year. This page goes through those we can show with figures: road tax and car insurance, plus the COE category the car falls in.
The XE has no entry on the new-car list now. The insurance prices below are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They show how prices compare and what moves them, not the quote you will get.
Our quote form's XE
The form lists one version:
- XE 2.0: 1,999cc
There is no list price to show, as the new-car list does not carry the model. All figures below are for the XE 2.0. If the car you are looking at has a different engine size on its papers, the road tax and insurance figures here will not match it, so check that first.
Which COE category
The price page's COE section says the XE 2.0, with a 1,999cc engine, is above 1,600cc. It needs a Category B COE.
Category B closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round. COE prices move each round; the COE page shows the latest. When you look at a used XE, the COE expiry date is worth as much attention as the mileage.
Road tax
For 1,999cc, LTA's formula gives S$1,210.92 a year, before any age surcharge.
After 10 years, the surcharge applies:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The road tax page has the base sums for other engines.
Insurance for a set driver
The Jaguar XE price page prices this case:
- Car: XE 2.0, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons
14 insurers price the XE for that driver. The lowest premium is S$1,037.02. The insurer with the dearest lowest plan asks at least S$2,418.84. That is S$1,381.82 more, or 133% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
The dearest lowest price is more than double the lowest premium. Only two insurers that price cars online have no online price for the XE yet, so most of the market is in the comparison.
The excess
The excess is what you pay on each claim before the insurer pays the rest. The 22 plans on this page spread widely. Nine carry S$600. Three ask S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. Three more ask S$2,500, one asks S$3,000, and one has no excess at all.
That spread is a reason to read every row, not just the premium column. A premium that looks low next to a S$3,000 excess is a different deal from one with S$600.
How the price responds to changes
The price page changes one detail and shows the new lowest premium:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,327.43, S$290.41 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,327.43, S$290.41 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,327.43, S$290.41 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,037.02, the same
- New car, registered this year: S$1,053.16, S$16.14 more
- Car 8 years old: S$931.07, S$105.95 less
Without an NCD, the lowest price is 28% higher, the largest change on the list. A younger driver with 30% NCD comes to the same figure. The 65-year-old pays the same as the 40-year-old. An 8-year-old XE costs less to insure than a 3-year-old one.
Two more things to note. Different insurers are lowest in different rows, so the lowest name can change once your details differ from the example. And these are only the lowest prices; dearer plans may shift by different sums.
Next to similar cars
For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:
- Lexus NX: S$972.39
- Lexus RX: S$972.39
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class: S$861.03
- BMW 5 Series: S$861.03
- Toyota Voxy: S$793.75
- Toyota Harrier: S$742.90
Their average lowest price is S$867.25. The XE costs 20% more, and all six are cheaper to insure for this driver. The Jaguar car insurance page covers the rest of the make, and the cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across the market.
Owner-dependent costs
These change too much from one owner to the next to give figures:
- Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus office and mall parking. Check your own rates.
- Petrol: depends on how far you drive and the pump price.
- ERP: depends on your routes and the time of day.
- Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule. On a used car, ask what has been done and what comes next.
- Depreciation: depends on the price you pay and the COE years remaining.
