Ford Mondeo Titanium ownership and insurance costs in Singapore

Costs of the Ford Mondeo Titanium 1.5 in Singapore: road tax, the COE rule for its engine and dated insurance prices for different drivers.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

Thinking about a Ford Mondeo Titanium? The version our insurers quote is the 1.5, and its 1,498cc engine sets both its road tax and its COE rule. This page sets out the yearly costs we can give figures for.

The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, as read on 20 October 2026. Use them to see the range and what shifts it, not as a quote.

The car behind the numbers

The Mondeo Titanium is not on the current new-car list, so there is no list price here. It is a car bought on the used market today.

Every figure below is for the Mondeo Titanium 1.5, with a 1,498cc engine. That is the version most of our insurers quote.

Road tax: S$683.08 before any surcharge

Engine size sets road tax in Singapore. For a 1,498cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$683.08 a year, before any age surcharge.

Once a car passes 10 years old, the tax goes up in steps:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

On a used car, the registration date tells you which step applies, so check it. The road tax page lists the figures for other engine sizes.

What COE applies

The price page puts it this way. With a 1,498cc engine, the Mondeo Titanium 1.5 needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. It needs a Category B COE if its power is more.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. The COE on a used car also tells you how much road life it has left. Round-by-round results are on the COE page.

The insurance spread

The Ford Mondeo Titanium price page uses these details:

  • Car: Mondeo Titanium 1.5, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

On those details, 11 insurers price the car. The lowest premium is S$604.07. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,274.75: S$670.68 more, or 111% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

So the same driver could pay more than twice as much for the same cover. Five insurers on our panel have no online price for this model at all.

Excess on each plan

The excess is your own share of a claim. Most plans on this page set it at S$600. Some use S$500, the estimated plans use S$800, and one plan has none.

When two premiums are close, the excess can decide which works out cheaper over a claim. Compare both before you pick.

How the lowest price shifts

Change one detail and the lowest premium on the page moves as follows:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,117.23, up S$513.16
  • 20% NCD: S$1,017.37, up S$413.30
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,117.23, up S$513.16
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$604.07, unchanged
  • New car, registered this year: S$622.34, up S$18.27
  • Car 8 years old: S$552.91, down S$51.16

The NCD effect is large on this car. With no discount, the lowest price climbs 85%. Even a 20% NCD leaves you well above the 50% figure.

That makes a clean record worth protecting. If you have a high NCD, ask insurers how a claim would affect it, and whether a protector is offered. The car's age matters far less: an 8-year-old Mondeo Titanium costs a little less to insure than a 3-year-old one.

All of these are the lowest prices only. Dearer plans may move by different amounts, so check the plan you actually want under each change.

Compared with similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page sets the Mondeo Titanium beside six similar cars:

Their average lowest price is S$735.99. The Mondeo Titanium sits 18% below it. None of the six is cheaper to insure, and the Sienta matches it. Other Fords are on the Ford car insurance page. For a wider view across makes, see cars that cost least to insure.

Costs only you can estimate

Some costs follow your own habits, so no figure applies to everyone.

  • Parking: season parking where you live, plus parking at work and in town. Check your own rates.
  • Petrol: depends on your yearly distance and pump prices.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the time of day.
  • Servicing and repairs: regular servicing, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over the years. Ask a seller for the car's service record.
  • Depreciation: depends on the price you pay and how much COE life the car has left.
