20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

Our quote form lists the Citroen DS7 Crossback as the 1.6L PureTech 225. It is not on the new-car list now, so you will be buying used. This page goes through what that car costs each year, and shows how its insurance responds to changes in the driver and the car.

All insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not a quote, and your own premium depends on your details.

The car priced

The new-car list has no entry for this model on sale now. There is no list price, power or body type on this page.

Our quote form prices the Citroen DS7 CROSSBACK 1.6L PURETECH 225, with a 1,598cc engine. It is the version most of our insurers quote.

Road tax

For the 1,598cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$741.72 a year. That was checked on 2026-10-19 and is before any age surcharge.

The surcharge starts after 10 years:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has sums for other engines.

The COE

With a 1,598cc engine, the DS7 Crossback 1.6L PureTech 225 needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. It needs a Category B COE if its power is more.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. These change every round; the COE page has the latest.

When you look at a used one, check the COE expiry date. It sets how long the car can stay on the road.

What insurance costs

The profile

The Citroen DS7 Crossback price page prices:

  • Car: DS7 Crossback 1.6L PureTech 225, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

The spread

12 insurers price it for that driver. The lowest premium is S$882.44 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,480.53. That is S$598.09 more, or 68% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Four insurers on our panel have no online price for this model.

The lowest premium already costs more than the road tax. So insurance is the bigger of the two yearly bills here.

The excess

Most plans set a S$600 excess. Two set S$500 and three S$800. Three set S$2,500 and one S$3,000. One plan has no excess.

Weigh the excess alongside the premium. On the plans with S$2,500 or S$3,000, a minor repair may cost you most of the bill.

How the price changes

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail differs:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,278.31, S$395.87 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,278.31, S$395.87 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,278.31, S$395.87 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,047.34, S$164.90 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$848.87, S$33.57 less
  • A car 8 years old: S$857.29, S$25.15 less

Losing the NCD adds 45% at the lowest price. A 20% NCD and a younger driver reach the same figure.

The older driver pays more. On this car, a new car and an 8-year-old car are both a little cheaper to insure than the 3-year-old one on the page.

These are lowest prices. Other plans may move differently.

Terms beyond the price

When you compare, also check:

  • Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Plans that allow any workshop may cost more or less.
  • Named drivers: an extra, younger driver can raise the premium.
  • NCD protection: an extra some plans offer. A claim can cut the NCD for years.
  • Excess: your share of each claim.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average is S$724.93. The DS7 Crossback costs 22% more than that, and 5 of the six are cheaper to insure. The Mazda 3 is the only one that costs more.

Other Citroen models are on the Citroen car insurance page. The cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across makes.

Before you buy

For a used DS7 Crossback, confirm:

  • COE expiry: how many years of use remain.
  • Warranty: whether any maker's cover is left, and what it includes.
  • Road tax: when it next falls due.
  • Your own quote: for this car and your details.

Costs that depend on you

These have no single figure:

  • Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus elsewhere.
  • Petrol: your distance and the pump price.
  • ERP: your routes and hours.
  • Servicing and parts: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over time. Ask who services the car.
  • Depreciation: tied to what you pay and the COE years left.
