Citroen C3 costs in Singapore, from road tax to car insurance

A used Citroen C3 1.1 in Singapore: road tax, the COE rule and dated car insurance prices for one stated driver, October 2026.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Citroen C3 is not on the new-car list today, but our quote form carries four versions of it. If you own one or are thinking of buying, this page sets out the yearly costs with dated figures. It also shows how much car insurance can move with your record.

All insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are a guide, not a quote for you.

Four versions on the form

The new-car list has no entry for this model on sale now, so this page gives no list price, power or body type.

Our quote form lists:

  • C3 1.1: 1,124cc
  • C3 1.4: 1,360cc
  • C3 1.6: 1,560cc
  • C3 1.6 MT: 1,586cc

The figures below are for the C3 1.1, the version most of our insurers quote. The larger engines pay more road tax, and their premiums may differ.

Insurance for one driver

The profile priced

The Citroen C3 price page prices:

  • Car: C3 1.1, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

What insurers ask

13 insurers price the C3 for that driver. The lowest premium is S$604.07 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,370.24. That is S$766.17 more, or 127% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Three insurers on our panel have no online price for this model.

So the top of the range is more than twice the bottom, for the same car and driver.

The excess

Most plans set a S$600 excess. Three set S$500 and three S$800. Two set S$2,500 and one S$3,000. One plan has no excess.

You pay the excess on each claim. For an older car, a high one can cover most of a repair bill, so weigh it with the premium.

How the price moves

The price page shows the lowest price with one change:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,098.76, S$494.69 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,017.37, S$413.30 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,098.76, S$494.69 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$604.07, the same
  • A new car, registered this year: S$622.34, S$18.27 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$552.91, S$51.16 less

The NCD has a strong effect on this car. Without it, the lowest price is 82% higher. Even a 20% NCD costs much more than 50%.

The younger driver pays the same as a driver with no NCD. The older driver pays no more than the 40-year-old. An 8-year-old C3 is a little cheaper to insure.

These are lowest prices. Other plans may move differently.

The COE

With a 1,124cc engine, the C3 1.1 needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. It needs a Category B COE if its power is more.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. These change every round; the COE page has the latest.

On a used C3, the COE years left shape how long you can keep the car and what it is worth.

Road tax

For the 1,124cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$463.72 a year. That was checked on 2026-10-19 and is before any age surcharge.

Older cars pay more:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

For the 1.4 and 1.6 versions, see the road tax page.

Reading a quote

When you compare, look past the premium:

  • Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Plans allowing any workshop may cost more or less.
  • Named drivers: a younger driver added to the policy can raise the price sharply, as the figures above suggest.
  • NCD protection: an extra some plans offer.
  • Excess: what you pay on each claim.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average is S$643.53. The C3 is 6% below that. Two of them, the Toyota C-HR and Nissan Kicks e-Power, are cheaper to insure.

Other Citroen models are on the Citroen car insurance page. The cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across makes.

Before you buy a used C3

Confirm a few points before you agree a price:

  • COE expiry: the years of use left.
  • Road tax: when it is next due, and at what surcharge.
  • Your own quote: priced on your details and this exact car.

Costs that depend on you

These have no single figure:

  • Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus elsewhere.
  • Petrol: your distance and the pump price.
  • ERP: your routes and hours.
  • Parts and servicing: ask how easy parts are to find for an older car, and who services it. Tyres, brakes and a battery come due.
  • Depreciation: for a used car, mostly the COE years left.

Yearly figures we can show

For the Citroen C3 1.1 (1,124cc), dated as shown:

  • Road tax: S$463.72 a year before any age surcharge (LTA's formula, checked 2026-10-19)
  • Insurance, standard driver: from S$604.07 a year (20 October 2026)
  • Insurance, 20% NCD: from S$1,017.37
  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$1,098.76
  • Insurance, a car 8 years old: from S$552.91

A fresh COE in the October 2026 1st round was S$130,001 (Category A) or S$130,100 (Category B).
