The Citroen C4 Grand Picasso is no longer on the new-car list, but our quote form carries five versions of it. If you are looking at one, the first step is to know which version it is. This page then covers the yearly costs for the version most insurers quote.
The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not a quote, and your own price depends on your details.
Five versions on the form
The new-car list has no entry for this model on sale now, so there is no list price, power or body type here.
Our quote form lists:
- C4 Grand Picasso 1.6: 1,560cc
- C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 THP: 1,598cc
- C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 THP Exclusive: 1,598cc
- C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 THP EGS: 1,598cc
- C4 Grand Picasso 2.0 (A): 1,997cc
The figures below are for the C4 Grand Picasso 1.6, the version most of our insurers quote. The THP versions have a slightly larger engine and the 2.0 a much larger one, so their road tax differs.
Car insurance
The standard driver
The Citroen C4 Grand Picasso price page prices:
- Car: C4 Grand Picasso 1.6, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no options
What 15 insurers ask
15 insurers price the car for that driver. The lowest premium is S$700.28 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,499.13. That is S$798.85 more, or 114% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
Only one insurer on our panel has no online price for this model. That is a wide field for an older model, so it pays to look across all of them.
The excess
Most plans set a S$600 excess. Three set S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. Three set S$2,500 and one S$3,000. One plan has no excess.
Read the excess next to each premium. The highest ones here are five times the usual figure.
How the price moves
Here is the lowest price with one detail changed:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,098.76, S$398.48 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,098.76, S$398.48 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,098.76, S$398.48 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$700.28, the same
- A new car, registered this year: S$721.59, S$21.31 more
- A car 8 years old: S$642.42, S$57.86 less
The NCD is the largest factor, with 57% more at the lowest price without it. A 20% NCD and a younger driver reach the same figure.
Driver age at the older end makes no difference. An 8-year-old car is a little cheaper to insure than the 3-year-old one.
A car like this is often shared within a family. If a younger driver will use it, the line for the 27-year-old is a fair guide to how much more a policy might cost. These are lowest prices; other plans may move by more.
The COE
With a 1,560cc engine, the C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. It needs a Category B COE if its power is more.
In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. These change every round; the COE page has the latest.
On a used car, the COE expiry date tells you how many years you are buying.
Road tax
For the 1,560cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$719.44 a year. That was checked on 2026-10-19 and is before any age surcharge.
From the tenth year, the surcharge applies:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
For the THP and 2.0 versions, use the road tax page.
Quote terms to check
When you compare, look at:
- Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Plans allowing any workshop may cost more or less.
- Named drivers: how each plan prices other family members who drive.
- NCD protection: an extra some plans offer.
- Excess: what you pay on each claim.
Against similar cars
For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:
- Toyota Corolla Altis: S$642.42
- Mazda 3: S$927.36
- Toyota Sienta: S$604.07
- BMW X1: S$811.71
- Mercedes-Benz GLB: S$787.96
- Honda Freed: S$642.42
Their average is S$735.99. The C4 Grand Picasso is 5% below that. Three of the six cost less to insure: the Corolla Altis, Sienta and Freed.
Other Citroen models are on the Citroen car insurance page. The cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across makes.
Checks before buying
For a used C4 Grand Picasso, confirm:
- Version and engine: so you know the road tax.
- COE expiry: the years of use left.
- Road tax: when it is due, and whether a surcharge applies.
- Your own quote: for this version and your details.
Costs that depend on you
These have no single figure:
- Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus elsewhere.
- Petrol: your distance and the pump price.
- ERP: your routes and hours.
- Parts and servicing: for an older car, ask how parts are sourced and who services it. Tyres, brakes and a battery come due.
- Depreciation: for a used car, mostly the COE years left.
