Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer costs in Singapore, with insurance

The Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer 1.2 in Singapore: road tax for 1,199cc, the COE rule and dated insurance prices for one stated driver.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer is no longer on the new-car list, but our quote form lists seven versions of it. Almost all share one small engine. This page covers what that engine means for road tax and the COE, then looks closely at car insurance.

The insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not a quote. Your own premium depends on your details.

Versions on the form

The new-car list has no entry for this model on sale now, so there is no list price, power or body type here.

Our quote form lists these versions:

  • Grand C4 SpaceTourer 1.2 (Euro 6.2): 1,199cc
  • 1.2 PureTech 130 S&S EAT6 ML: 1,199cc
  • 1.2 PureTech 130 S&S EAT6 Style Edition: 1,199cc
  • 1.2 PureTech 130 S&S EAT8: 1,199cc
  • 1.2 PureTech EAT8 Exclusive: 1,199cc
  • 1.2 Style Edition: 1,199cc
  • 1.6 THP 165 EAT6: 1,598cc

The figures below are for the Grand C4 SpaceTourer 1.2 (Euro 6.2), the version most of our insurers quote. Six of the seven share its 1,199cc engine, so their road tax is the same. The 1.6 THP pays more.

Road tax

For the 1,199cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$507.72 a year. That was checked on 2026-10-19 and is before any age surcharge.

The surcharge applies after 10 years:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

For the 1.6 THP, see the road tax page.

The COE

With a 1,199cc engine, the Grand C4 SpaceTourer 1.2 needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. It needs a Category B COE if its power is more.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. These change every round; the COE page has the latest.

On a used car, check the COE expiry date. It sets how long you can keep the car on the road.

Car insurance

The standard driver

The Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer price page prices:

  • Car: Grand C4 SpaceTourer 1.2, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

What 13 insurers ask

13 insurers price the car for that driver. The lowest premium is S$772.05 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,350.31. That is S$578.26 more, or 75% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Three insurers on our panel have no online price for this model.

The excess

Most plans set a S$600 excess. Three set S$500 and three S$800. Three set S$2,500 and one S$3,000. One plan has no excess.

Check the excess on each plan. On a car often shared in a family, the chance of a claim may be worth thinking about.

How the price changes

The price page shows the lowest price when one detail differs:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,054.17, S$282.12 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,054.17, S$282.12 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,054.17, S$282.12 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$904.96, S$132.91 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$737.08, S$34.97 less
  • A car 8 years old: S$762.05, S$10.00 less

Losing the NCD adds 37% at the lowest price. A 20% NCD and a younger driver reach the same figure.

The older driver pays more than the 40-year-old. Both a newer and an older car are a little cheaper to insure than the 3-year-old car on the page.

These are lowest prices. Other plans may move differently.

What to compare in a quote

Along with the premium, check:

  • Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Some plans allow any workshop, at a different price.
  • Named drivers: how each plan prices other drivers in the household.
  • NCD protection: an extra some plans offer. A claim can reduce the NCD for years.
  • Excess: your share of each claim.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average is S$688.21. The Grand C4 SpaceTourer costs 12% more than that. Three of the six are cheaper to insure: the Honda Jazz / Fit, Toyota C-HR and Nissan Qashqai.

Other Citroen models are on the Citroen car insurance page. The cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across makes.

Before you buy

For a used Grand C4 SpaceTourer, confirm:

  • Version: so you know which engine and road tax apply.
  • COE expiry: how many years of use are left.
  • Warranty: whether any maker's cover remains.
  • Your own quote: for this version and your details.

Costs that depend on you

These have no single figure:

  • Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus elsewhere.
  • Petrol: your distance and the pump price.
  • ERP: your routes and hours.
  • Servicing and parts: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery. Ask who services the car.
  • Depreciation: tied to what you pay and the COE years left.

Summary of yearly costs
