The Chevrolet Orlando is no longer on the new-car list, but used ones still change hands in Singapore. If you are weighing one up, this page gives you the yearly costs we can put a figure on. It starts with car insurance, since that is the cost that varies most between buyers.
The insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not a quote. Your price depends on your own details.
The versions
The new-car list has no entry for this model on sale now, so there is no list price, power or body type here.
Our quote form lists two versions:
- Orlando 1.4AT: 1,362cc
- Orlando 1.8: 1,796cc
The figures below are for the Orlando 1.4AT, the version most of our insurers quote. The 1.8 has a larger engine, so its road tax is higher and its COE rule may differ.
Car insurance for the standard driver
The profile
The Chevrolet Orlando price page prices:
- Car: Orlando 1.4AT, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no options
The prices
15 insurers price the Orlando for that driver. The lowest premium is S$666.79 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,302.54. That is S$635.75 more, or 95% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
Only one insurer on our panel has no online price for this model. With that many prices, a careful comparison is worth the time.
The excess
Most plans set a S$600 excess. Three set S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. Three set S$2,500 and one S$3,000. One plan has no excess.
The excess is what you pay on each claim before the insurer pays. Check it on every plan you shortlist.
How the lowest price changes
The price page shows the lowest price when one detail differs:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,149.24, S$482.45 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,123.01, S$456.22 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,149.24, S$482.45 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$666.79, the same
- A new car, registered this year: S$700.28, S$33.49 more
- A car 8 years old: S$622.34, S$44.45 less
Losing the NCD is the biggest change, adding 72%. A 20% NCD saves only a little on that. The younger driver pays the same as a driver with no NCD.
The 65-year-old driver pays the same as the 40-year-old. An 8-year-old Orlando is a little cheaper to insure.
A family car is often shared. If a younger driver will use it, that 72% jump is a useful guide to how much more a policy might cost. These are lowest prices, and other plans may move by more.
The COE
With a 1,362cc engine, the Orlando 1.4AT needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. It needs a Category B COE if its power is more.
In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. These change each round; the COE page has the latest.
On a used Orlando, check the COE expiry date first. It sets how many years of use you are paying for.
Road tax
For the 1,362cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$603.32 a year. That was checked on 2026-10-19 and is before any age surcharge.
Cars over 10 years old pay more:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
For the 1.8, use the road tax page.
Comparing plans properly
The premium is one part of a plan. Also check:
- Workshop: these prices assume an authorised workshop. Some plans allow any workshop, at a different price.
- Named drivers: how each plan prices other people who will drive the car.
- NCD protection: an extra some plans offer.
- Excess: what you pay on each claim.
Against similar cars
For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:
- Mazda 3: S$927.36
- Toyota Sienta: S$604.07
- BMW X1: S$811.71
- Mercedes-Benz GLB: S$787.96
- Honda Freed: S$642.42
- Mercedes-Benz C-Class: S$749.93
Their average is S$753.91. The Orlando is 12% below that. Two of them, the Toyota Sienta and Honda Freed, are cheaper to insure.
Other Chevrolets are on the Chevrolet car insurance page. The cheapest cars to insure page ranks models across makes.
Before you agree a price
For a used Orlando, confirm:
- COE expiry: the years left.
- Road tax: when it is due and whether a surcharge applies.
- Your own quote: priced on your details and this car.
Costs that depend on you
These have no single figure:
- Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus elsewhere.
- Petrol: your distance and the pump price.
- ERP: your routes and hours.
- Parts and servicing: ask about parts supply for an older car and who services it. Tyres, brakes and a battery come due.
- Depreciation: for a used car, mostly the COE years left.
