This page is for anyone pricing up an Audi S3 Sportback in Singapore, new or used. It takes each cost in turn: the price as listed, the COE, road tax and insurance. Then it lists the costs that turn on your own habits.
Insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your quote will depend on your details.
The S3 Sportback on sale
The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has a single version: the S3 Sportback 2.0 TFSI qu S tronic. It is listed as a sports body type made in Germany, running on petrol, with a 1,984cc engine and 329bhp.
Our quote form prices that same version. So the insurance, road tax and COE figures below all match the car on sale.
Price as listed
On 2026-10-10, the S3 Sportback was S$381,999 as listed, COE included as listed that day.
New-car prices shift with each COE round. A dealer's figure on the day may also bundle in different items. Ask for a breakdown before you compare one offer with another.
COE category
The price page's COE section puts the 1,984cc engine above 1,600cc. That means a Category B COE. In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100. See the COE page for later rounds.
Road tax
LTA's formula gives the 1,984cc engine road tax of S$1,193.34 a year, before any age surcharge.
Older cars pay more on top:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
Most buyers of a new car will not reach these steps before the COE runs out. They matter if you renew the COE. The road tax page covers other engines.
The insurance picture
The Audi S3 Sportback price page prices one standard case:
- Car: S3 Sportback 2.0 TFSI qu S tronic, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no options
For that case, 9 insurers give a price. The lowest is S$1,189.71 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,963.43: S$773.72 more, or 65% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
That is a gap of several hundred dollars a year for the same car and driver. It is the main reason to compare before you renew.
The excess
The excess is what you pay yourself on a claim. Seven plans here carry S$600. Three carry S$800 and two carry S$500. One carries S$2,500, and one carries nothing. When two plans cost about the same, the excess can be the real difference.
Same cover, same terms
Check that the plans you compare match on workshop choice, named drivers and add-ons. A low price with fewer terms is not a like-for-like saving.
What raises or lowers the price
The price page shows the lowest price when one detail changes:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,636.48, S$446.77 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,636.48, S$446.77 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,636.48, S$446.77 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,436.91, S$247.20 more
- New car, registered this year: S$1,636.48, S$446.77 more
- Car 8 years old: S$1,142.92, S$46.79 less
Losing the NCD is the costliest change, at 38% more. Yet the 20% NCD case, the younger driver and the brand-new car all share that same lowest price. In each of them, the plan that was cheapest for the standard driver stops being the floor.
So a new S3 Sportback costs more to insure than the 3-year-old car on this page. An older driver also pays more. Only the 8-year-old car comes in lower, and plans above the lowest may differ.
Similar cars for the same driver
The price page sets six cars beside the S3 Sportback, at the same car age:
- Toyota Harrier: S$742.90
- Toyota Voxy: S$793.75
- BMW 5 Series: S$861.03
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class: S$861.03
- Lexus NX: S$972.39
- Lexus RX: S$972.39
The six average S$867.25. The S3 Sportback costs 37% more than that, and all 6 cost less to insure. More Audi models are on the Audi car insurance page.
Costs we leave to you
These depend on how and where you use the car:
- Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus work and town. Check rates near you.
- Petrol: depends on distance driven and pump prices.
- ERP: depends on your routes and timing.
- Servicing and repairs: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over the years. Ask what the warranty and any service package cover.
- Depreciation: what the car loses over its COE life depends on what you pay and what it sells for later.
