Audi S3 Sedan in Singapore, the yearly costs and insurance prices

The Audi S3 Sedan's Singapore costs: Category B COE, road tax on its 1,984cc engine, and dated car insurance examples.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

You may be looking at a used Audi S3 Sedan, or already own one and want to see how your costs compare. Either way, this page sets out what it costs to keep on the road in Singapore. It works through the COE, road tax and car insurance, then the costs only you can price.

Insurance prices on this page are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are a guide to the spread, not a quote.

The version on our form

The new-car list has no S3 Sedan on sale now, so there is no list price here. Our quote form prices the S3 Sedan 2.0 TFSI qu S tronic, with a 1,984cc engine. All the figures below refer to that car.

COE

The price page's COE section says the 1,984cc engine is above 1,600cc. That puts the S3 Sedan in Category B. In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100.

A used car keeps the COE it was registered with until that runs out. If you renew, you pay the rate at the time. The COE page has current results.

Road tax

For a 1,984cc engine, LTA's formula sets road tax at S$1,193.34 a year, before any surcharge.

That rises once the car passes 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

Check any other engine size on the road tax page.

Car insurance for the standard driver

The Audi S3 Sedan price page prices one driver and car:

  • Car: S3 Sedan 2.0 TFSI qu S tronic, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

9 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$1,189.71 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,963.43. That is S$773.72 more, or 65% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

The spread is narrower than on some premium cars. Still, picking the right insurer saves several hundred dollars a year for the same cover.

What the excess looks like

Every plan has an excess, the part of a claim you pay. On this page most plans carry S$600. A few carry S$800 and two carry S$500. One plan has an excess of S$2,500, and one has none. Check it next to the premium each time.

Workshop terms

The standard driver here uses an authorised workshop. Some plans let you pick any workshop, and that choice can change both the premium and how a repair is handled. When you compare, check the workshop terms match from quote to quote.

When the details change

These are the lowest prices when one thing differs:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,636.48, S$446.77 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,636.48, S$446.77 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,636.48, S$446.77 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,436.91, S$247.20 more
  • New car, registered this year: S$1,636.48, S$446.77 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$1,142.92, S$46.79 less

Four of the six changes land on the same lowest price, 38% above the page's figure. That pattern shows one plan setting the floor once the standard driver's best price no longer applies.

The older driver pays more too. Only an 8-year-old car brings the price down, and only a little. These are lowest prices; others may move differently.

What this means in practice

If your details differ from the standard driver in any of these ways, expect fewer cheap options. It is worth getting quotes on your exact details rather than relying on the headline figure.

How it compares with similar cars

The price page lists six cars with 2.0-litre class engines, for the same driver and car age:

They average S$867.25. The S3 Sedan costs 37% more than that, and all 6 are cheaper to insure for this driver. The Audi car insurance page lists other Audi models.

Costs that depend on you

These are costs of ownership too, but they vary so much that one figure would mislead:

  • Parking: season parking at home, plus office and mall charges. HDB and condo rates differ, so check yours.
  • Petrol: depends on distance and pump prices.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the hours you travel.
  • Servicing and repairs: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery. On a used car, ask what servicing has been done and what any remaining warranty covers.
  • Depreciation: the value lost over the remaining COE life depends on what you pay and what you sell for.

Summary of yearly costs we can show
