What the Audi RS 3 Sportback costs to run and insure in Singapore

The Audi RS 3 Sportback in Singapore: price as listed, COE category, road tax and dated car insurance examples for one driver.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The RS 3 Sportback is the hatchback form of Audi's RS 3, and it sits at the costly end of small cars. A big list price is only the start. This guide sets out the yearly costs we can put numbers on, then the ones that depend on you.

The insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They help you see how quotes differ. They are not your price.

On sale and on our form

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one version: the RS 3 Sportback 2.5 TFSI qu S tronic. It is listed as a sports body type, made in Germany, petrol, with a 2,480cc engine and 394bhp.

Our quote form prices the same version, so every figure on this page lines up with the car on sale.

The list price

As listed on 2026-10-10, the RS 3 Sportback was S$475,999, with COE included as listed that day.

That figure moves with COE rounds and dealer offers. When you collect quotes, ask what each includes, such as registration and any packages, before comparing totals.

Which COE it needs

The price page's COE section places it plainly. With a 2,480cc engine, above 1,600cc, it needs a Category B COE. That category closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round. The COE page has the newest results.

Road tax each year

For the 2,480cc engine, LTA's formula gives road tax of S$1,775.14 a year, before any surcharge.

Once the car is past 10 years old, a surcharge applies:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page covers other engine sizes if you are comparing.

Insurance for the standard driver

The Audi RS 3 Sportback price page prices these details:

  • Car: RS 3 Sportback 2.5 TFSI qu S tronic, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

4 insurers price it for this driver. The lowest premium is S$1,310.08. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$4,226.67, which is S$2,916.59 more, or 223% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

So the choice of insurer alone can change the yearly bill by thousands of dollars. With only a few online prices, it pays to see every one.

Excess terms

The excess is your share of each claim. On this page, three plans carry S$600, one carries S$500 and one carries none. Set the excess beside the premium. A plan that costs more each year but asks less per claim may suit you if you expect to claim.

Few online prices

Most of our panel has no online price for this model. Where an insurer will quote by other means, ask for matching cover, excess and workshop terms. That way the numbers you compare mean the same thing.

How the premium shifts

The lowest price when one detail changes, all else the same:

  • No NCD (0%): S$2,758.07, S$1,447.99 more
  • 20% NCD: S$2,206.45, S$896.37 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$2,603.02, S$1,292.94 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,423.07, S$112.99 more
  • New car, registered this year: S$1,434.85, S$124.77 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$1,197.79, S$112.29 less

No NCD is the biggest step: the lowest price rises 111%. A young driver lands close behind. Both the older driver and the brand-new car cost a little more.

Only 3 insurers price a new car registered this year. The 8-year-old car is the single case that comes out cheaper. Plans above the lowest may move by different amounts.

Measured against similar cars

The price page sets six cars with engines of a similar size beside it, for the same driver and car age:

They average S$801.42 at the lowest price. The RS 3 Sportback costs 63% more, and every one of the 6 is cheaper to insure. Each of them draws prices from 15 insurers. The Audi car insurance page covers the rest of the range, and the cheapest cars to insure list shows the other end of the market.

Costs set by the owner

We cannot give one figure for these, because they depend on you:

  • Parking: your HDB or condo season parking, and what you pay at work and in town.
  • Petrol: depends on distance and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on where and when you travel.
  • Servicing and repairs: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over time. Ask what the warranty and any service package include, and what parts cost.
  • Depreciation: the value lost over the COE life depends on what you pay and what the car later sells for.

Summary of yearly costs we can show
