How much does an Audi A7 cost to run once it is in your car park? The A7 is not on the new-car list now, so most buyers will be looking at a used one. This page answers the question with the figures we can date: the COE, road tax and car insurance.
On insurance, every figure is an example read on 20 October 2026 for one stated driver and car. Your own premium will be different. Use these to see what drives the cost.
Which A7 is this?
The quote form lists three versions:
- A7 2.0: 1,984cc
- A7 2.8 FSI: 2,800cc
- A7 3.0 T: 2,995cc
The figures below are for the A7 2.0, the version most insurers quote. As the new-car list has no A7 on sale, there is no list price on this page. If the car you are viewing is a 2.8 or 3.0, its road tax will be well above the 2.0's, and its insurance may differ.
What COE does it need?
The price page states that the A7 2.0, with a 1,984cc engine above 1,600cc, needs a Category B COE. In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100.
On a used car the COE is already paid. What you are buying is the years left on it. Ask for the expiry date, and weigh it against the asking price. For renewal costs, the COE page has the latest results.
How much is the road tax?
For a 1,984cc engine, LTA's formula comes to S$1,193.34 a year, before any age surcharge.
Older cars pay more, with a surcharge that rises each year after the 10-year mark:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
So the age of the car affects this bill directly. Check the registration date before you buy. The road tax page works out the 2.8 and 3.0 engines.
What does insurance cost?
The Audi A7 price page prices this example:
- Car: A7 2.0, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: authorised workshop, no options
14 insurers price the A7 for that driver. The lowest premium is S$1,043.77 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is the dearest asks at least S$1,929.19. That is S$885.42 more, or 85% on top. All prices include 9% GST.
S$885.42 a year is a lot to leave on the table at renewal. A few prices on the page are estimates, so confirm them with the insurer's own quote.
What about the excess?
The excess is what you pay towards each claim. Most A7 plans set it at S$600. Others use S$500, S$750 or S$800. One plan asks S$2,500, and one has no excess. A cheaper premium with a higher excess may cost you more in a year you claim.
What makes the price go up or down?
The price page shows the lowest premium after one change, with everything else the same:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,586.35, S$542.58 more
- 20% NCD: S$1,586.35, S$542.58 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,586.35, S$542.58 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,140.56, S$96.79 more
- A new car, registered this year: S$1,075.09, S$31.32 more
- A car 8 years old: S$983.86, S$59.91 less
The NCD is the key figure. Without it, the lowest premium rises by 52%. A younger driver with a short record pays the same as a driver with no NCD. An older driver pays a little more than the example.
For a used-car buyer, the car-age lines matter. An 8-year-old A7 costs S$59.91 less at the lowest price than a 3-year-old one. Remember these are lowest prices only. The other plans can move by different amounts.
How does it compare?
For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:
- Lexus NX: S$972.39
- Lexus RX: S$972.39
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class: S$861.03
- BMW 5 Series: S$861.03
- Toyota Voxy: S$793.75
- Toyota Harrier: S$742.90
Their average is S$867.25. The A7 costs 20% more than that, and all six are cheaper to insure. The Audi car insurance page lists the make's other models, and the cheapest cars to insure page ranks a wider set.
What else will you pay?
Some costs depend on you, so there is no single figure:
- Parking: season parking at your block or condo, plus parking at work and in town.
- Petrol: set by your distance and the pump price.
- ERP: set by your routes and the times you travel.
- Servicing and repairs: on a used car, ask for the service record and what work is coming up.
- Depreciation: what you lose depends on what you pay now and the COE years left when you sell.
Summary of yearly costs we can show
