Does maid insurance cover the security bond?

Yes. All 14 insurers we compare include the S$5,000 security bond MOM requires, as a letter of guarantee. If MOM calls the bond, many insurers can claim the money back from you, unless you also buy a waiver of counter-indemnity, usually with a S$250 excess. Malaysian helpers need no bond.
