What the Toyota Noah Hybird G costs to run and insure in Singapore

Road tax, Category B COE and car insurance for the Toyota Noah Hybird G 1.8 in Singapore, with the excesses and how drivers change the price.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The short answer first. For the standard driver on our price page, the Toyota Noah Hybird G starts at S$900.37 a year to insure, and road tax on its engine is S$973.98 a year. The rest of this guide explains where those figures come from and what moves them.

Every insurance figure here is an example read on 20 October 2026, for one stated driver and car. Your own price depends on your details.

The car on our quote form

The new-car list has no entry for the Noah Hybird G on sale now. So there is no list price, power figure or body type to report. Our quote form names it as the Noah Hybird G 1.8 CVT D/Airbag 2WD5D, with a 1,797cc engine. All the insurance figures below are for that version.

When you ask for a quote, match the version name on the car's papers. A near match on a form can give a price for a different car.

COE category

The price page states that this version, with its 1,797cc engine, is above 1,600cc. It needs a Category B COE. That category closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.

The amount changes at each bidding round, and the COE page keeps the latest. On a car that is already registered, the COE runs out on a set date. How many years are left is worth checking before you agree a price.

Road tax

For a 1,797cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$973.98 a year. That is before any surcharge for age.

Cars more than 10 years old pay a surcharge on top:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has figures for other engine sizes.

Insurance for the standard driver

The Toyota Noah Hybird G price page prices this case:

  • Car: Noah Hybird G 1.8, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

11 insurers price it for that driver. The lowest premium is S$900.37. The insurer whose lowest plan sits highest asks at least S$1,487.35, which is S$586.98 more, or 65% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Five insurers on our panel have no online price for this model yet. With fewer insurers in the running, each quote you do get carries more weight, so compare all of them.

The excess

Your excess is the part of a claim you pay first. Most plans for this car carry S$600. Others are at S$500, S$750 or S$800, and one has none. None of the plans here asks more than S$800, so the excesses sit in a narrow band.

Who pays more, and who pays less

The price page holds every detail but one and shows the new lowest price:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,083.50, S$183.13 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,083.50, S$183.13 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,083.50, S$183.13 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$983.86, S$83.49 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$927.39, S$27.02 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$848.69, S$51.68 less

Read that by driver:

  • A newer driver: the lowest price rises 20%, to the same figure as a driver with no NCD.
  • A family's main driver with a full NCD: the S$900.37 starting point.
  • An older driver: a little more, and one fewer insurer quotes that case.

And by car age, an 8-year-old Noah Hybird G costs less to insure than a 3-year-old one at the lowest price. A brand new one costs a little more.

These are floors only. Plans higher up the list may change by other amounts.

How it compares with similar cars

The price page sets six cars beside it, for the same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$783.18. The Noah Hybird G is 15% above it, and five of the six cost less to insure. The Lexus NX is the exception. More Toyota models are on the Toyota car insurance page.

Questions to ask yourself

  • Who will be the main driver? A driver with a small NCD or few years of driving moves the floor up.
  • How long will you keep it? The age surcharge on road tax starts after 10 years.
  • What COE life is left? It shapes what you pay and how long you can use the car.
  • Can you carry a higher excess? On this car, the excess range is narrow, so the premium does most of the work.

Costs that depend on you

  • Parking: season parking at home and the parking you pay elsewhere.
  • Fuel: your bill depends on your mileage and pump prices.
  • ERP: your routes and the hours you drive them.
  • Servicing: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and batteries. Ask what any remaining warranty covers.
  • Depreciation: set by what you pay and what the car fetches later.

Summary of yearly costs we can show
