This is a cost guide to the Subaru Levorg for anyone in Singapore deciding whether one fits. The Levorg is not on the new-car list now, so most buyers will look at used cars. Below are the yearly costs we can put figures on: road tax and car insurance, plus how the COE works.
All insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They show how prices compare. They are not what you will be asked to pay.
The Levorg on our quote form
With no new-car list entry, we give no list price, power or body type. Our quote form prices the Levorg 1.6, with a 1,600cc engine. Most of our insurers quote that version, so all figures below are for it.
The COE rule for the 1.6
The Levorg 1.6 has a 1,600cc engine. For that size, the category turns on power. It needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less, and a Category B COE if it is more.
The October 2026 1st round closed at S$130,001 for Category A and S$130,100 for Category B. Each round sets a new figure, and the COE page tracks them.
If you buy used, the COE comes with the car. Ask how many years remain on it, since that limits how long you can keep the car without renewing.
Road tax
LTA's formula gives S$742.90 a year for a 1,600cc engine. That is before any surcharge for age.
The surcharge applies once a car is over 10 years old:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
The road tax page has the sums for other engines.
What insurance costs for the standard driver
The Subaru Levorg price page asks each insurer to price this case:
- Car: Levorg 1.6, registered 3 years ago, private use
- Cover: comprehensive, authorised workshop, no options
- Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years' driving
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
13 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$853.44 a year. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,510.57. That is S$657.13 more, or 77% on top. Prices include 9% GST.
That gap is the reason to compare. The same car and driver can cost the better part of double, depending on the insurer.
Three more insurers have no online price for the Levorg. Several of those that do quote offer more than one plan. Each plan sets its own cover, so read what you get as well as the price.
Excess: the second figure
The excess is the amount you pay on each claim before cover starts. On this page it runs from S$0 to S$2,500. Most plans carry S$600. Others carry S$500, S$750, S$800 or S$2,500.
Near the top of the list, the premiums are close but the excesses are not. A plan with S$2,500 excess sits among plans with S$600. If you claim, that difference is yours to pay.
Prices marked as estimates come from an insurer's rate table, and one price includes a promo code. The price page shows which.
How sensitive the price is
The price page shows the lowest price with one change at a time:
- No NCD (0%): S$963.04, S$109.60 more
- 20% NCD: S$963.04, S$109.60 more
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$963.04, S$109.60 more
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$886.61, S$33.17 more
- A new car, registered this year: S$878.87, S$25.43 more
- A car 8 years old: S$811.71, S$41.73 less
These moves are fairly small. Losing the NCD adds 13% to the lowest price, the largest change here. A younger driver with a short record pays the same as no NCD.
The older driver and a new car each add a little. The 8-year-old car costs a little less.
These are lowest prices only. Plans further up the list may move by more or less.
Against similar cars
The price page compares six cars of similar engine size, for the same driver and car age:
- Toyota Sienta: S$604.07
- Toyota Corolla Altis: S$642.42
- Honda Freed: S$642.42
- Hyundai Kona: S$721.59
- BMW X1: S$811.71
- Mazda 3: S$927.36
Their average lowest price is S$724.93. The Levorg costs 18% more than that. Five of the six are cheaper to insure; only the Mazda 3 costs more.
The Subaru car insurance page lists other Subaru models. The cheapest cars to insure page compares models across makes.
Costs that vary by owner
These depend on how and where you use the car, so we give no figures:
- Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, and at work. Add mall and street parking.
- Petrol: your mileage and the pump price.
- ERP: your routes and the times you travel.
- Servicing: follow the maker's schedule. Tyres, brakes and a battery come due over time. On a used car, ask to see the records.
- Depreciation: the value lost from purchase until you sell or the COE ends.
