Range Rover Velar in Singapore and what it costs each year

Range Rover Velar costs in Singapore: the 3.0 S list price as listed on 2026-10-10, road tax and COE for the 2.0, and dated insurance prices.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Range Rover Velar sits between the Evoque and the larger Range Rovers. In Singapore, its yearly costs depend a lot on which engine it has. This page goes through the list price, COE, road tax and car insurance, using only dated figures.

The new-car list's Velar is a 3.0 mild hybrid. Our insurance, road tax and COE figures are for the 2.0 on our quote form. Each section says which version it covers. Insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026.

The versions

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has one Velar on sale, an SUV made in the U.K.:

  • Velar Mild Hybrid 3.0 S: petrol-electric, 2,996cc, 394bhp

Our quote form lists two versions:

  • Velar 2.0: 1,997cc
  • 3.0 S: 2,996cc

The insurance figures below are for the 2.0, the version most insurers quote.

List price

As listed on 2026-10-10, with COE included in the list price that day:

  • Velar Mild Hybrid 3.0 S: S$477,888

List prices move with every COE round. A dealer's figure today may differ, so check what each offer includes before you compare.

COE

The price page's COE section covers the Velar 2.0. With a 1,997cc engine, above 1,600cc, it needs a Category B COE. That category closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.

The page states no category for the 3.0 S, so we give none here. The COE page shows the latest results.

Road tax

For the 2.0's 1,997cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$1,208.58 a year, before any age surcharge. The 3.0 S has a much larger engine and pays more. Check it on the road tax page.

The age surcharge, for cars over 10 years old:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

Insurance for the example driver

The Range Rover Velar price page prices this case:

  • Car: Velar 2.0, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

14 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$1,107.35. The insurer with the dearest lowest plan asks at least S$2,432.99. That is S$1,325.64 more, or 120% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Only two insurers that price cars online have no online price for the Velar yet. So you can compare across most of the market.

Excess

The excess is what you pay on each claim. There are 22 plans on this page. Ten carry S$600. Two ask S$500, two S$750 and three S$800. Three ask S$2,500, one asks S$3,000 and one has no excess.

With a wide spread like this, two plans close on premium can be far apart on what you pay after a claim. Read both columns.

What moves the price

The price page reprices the car with one change:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,502.63, S$395.28 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,502.63, S$395.28 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,502.63, S$395.28 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,176.08, S$68.73 more
  • New car, registered this year: S$1,140.57, S$33.22 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$1,043.79, S$63.56 less

No NCD costs the most, adding 36% to the lowest price. A younger driver lands on the same figure. The older driver pays a little more than the base case. A new car adds S$33.22, and an 8-year-old car takes off S$63.56. These are lowest prices only.

Different insurers are lowest in different rows. So if your NCD or age differs from the example, the insurer that suits you may not be the one at the top of the page.

If you are buying a Velar new, read the new-car row with care. It is for the 2.0, not the 3.0 S on the new-car list, so the price for that version may differ.

Against similar cars

The price page compares six similar cars for the same driver and car age:

They average S$867.25. The Velar costs 28% more, and all six are cheaper to insure at these settings. The two Lexus models come closest. Other Land Rovers are on the Land Rover car insurance page.

Costs that depend on you

  • Parking: season parking at home and work, plus mall and weekend parking.
  • Petrol: depends on how far you drive and the pump price. The new 3.0 S pairs petrol with an electric motor.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and times.
  • Servicing and repairs: ask what the warranty and any service package cover on a new car, or for the records on a used one.
  • Depreciation: depends on what you pay and what the car fetches later.

Summary of yearly costs we can show

  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$1,502.63
