Range Rover Sport 3.0 V6 running costs in Singapore

The Range Rover Sport 3.0 V6 Dynamic Autobiography in Singapore: road tax for a 2,995cc engine, Category B COE and dated insurance prices.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

This page covers the Range Rover Sport as our quote form lists it: the 3.0 V6 Dynamic Autobiography. If you own one, or are looking at one on the used market, it sets out the yearly bills we can show with figures. They are road tax and car insurance, along with the COE category.

Our price page lists the car as the Range Rover SPRT, and the new-car list has no entry under that name. So there is no list price here. Insurance prices are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026.

The version we price

Our quote form lists one version:

  • Range Rover SPRT 3.0 V6 Dynamic Autobiography: 2,995cc

All the figures below are for that car. If the car you are offered has a different engine size on its papers, these figures will not fit it, so check that first.

COE

The price page's COE section says this 2,995cc car is above 1,600cc. It needs a Category B COE.

Category B closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round. COE prices move each round; the COE page shows the latest. When you buy used, the COE life left is a big part of the car's value.

Road tax

At 2,995cc, LTA's formula gives S$2,379.24 a year, before any age surcharge. That is a sizeable fixed bill each year.

After 10 years, a surcharge is added:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The road tax page has the base sums for other engine sizes.

Insurance for one example driver

The Range Rover Sport price page prices this case:

  • Car: 3.0 V6 Dynamic Autobiography, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no add-ons

11 insurers price it. The lowest premium is S$1,212.00. The insurer with the dearest lowest plan asks at least S$2,548.34. That is S$1,336.34 more, or 110% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Five insurers that price cars online have no online price for this car. For one, it is because the model is not on its online quote. The other four have no online price for it yet.

The excess

The excess is what you pay on each claim. On this page the range is narrow. Ten of the 16 plans carry S$600. Two ask S$500 and three S$800. One plan has no excess. None goes above S$800.

That makes the premiums easier to compare like for like. Still, check what each plan covers, as cover can differ even where the excess is the same.

How the price changes

The price page reprices the car after one change:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,550.47, S$338.47 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,550.47, S$338.47 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,550.47, S$338.47 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,212.00, the same
  • New car, registered this year: S$1,212.00, the same
  • Car 8 years old: S$1,167.34, S$44.66 less

No NCD costs the most, adding 28% to the lowest price. The younger driver lands on the same figure. The 65-year-old and a new car each leave the lowest price as it is. An 8-year-old car is a little cheaper.

So the NCD is the factor to watch. With it at 50%, the lowest price holds steady across driver age and car age. Without it, the lowest price comes from a different insurer and is S$338.47 higher. These are lowest prices only, and dearer plans may move differently.

If you are switching from another car, your NCD carries across. Have proof of it ready when you ask for quotes.

Against similar cars

The price page compares six similar cars for the same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$1,242.89. The Range Rover Sport costs 2% less. Two of the six, the SQ5 and the 7 Series, are cheaper to insure. The rest cost more. So among large-engined cars, it sits near the middle on insurance. Other Land Rovers are on the Land Rover car insurance page.

Costs that depend on you

These vary by owner, so we give no figures:

  • Parking: season parking at home and work, plus parking for trips out. Check your car park's lot sizes.
  • Petrol: depends on how far you drive and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and times.
  • Servicing and repairs: on a used car, ask for the service record and what is due next.
  • Depreciation: depends on the price paid and the COE years left.

Summary of yearly costs we can show
