How much a BMW X7 costs to buy and insure in Singapore

The BMW X7 in Singapore: list prices as listed on 2026-10-10, COE, road tax and dated car insurance prices for one stated driver.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The BMW X7 is an SUV listed with six or seven seats. Its list prices are among the higher ones on the Singapore new-car list. If you are weighing one up, this page sets out its costs one at a time, with the figures we can show.

The insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They are not a quote. Your price will depend on your own details.

Versions listed

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has three X7 versions on sale. All are SUVs made in USA:

  • X7 xDrive40i 7-Seater: petrol, 2,998cc, 375bhp
  • X7 xDrive40i M Sport 7-Seater: petrol, 2,998cc, 375bhp
  • X7 M60i Mild Hybrid 4.4 xDrive 6-seater: petrol-electric, 4,395cc, 523bhp

The insurance, COE and road tax figures below are for the X7 with the 2,998cc engine. That is the version most of our insurers quote. The M60i has a larger engine, so its road tax and premiums will differ.

List prices

As listed on 2026-10-10, with COE included in the list price that day:

  • xDrive40i 7-Seater: S$681,888
  • xDrive40i M Sport 7-Seater: S$698,888
  • M60i Mild Hybrid 4.4 xDrive 6-seater: S$863,888

These move with the COE and with each dealer's offer. When comparing offers, check what each includes before you compare totals.

The COE

The price page's COE section covers the 2,998cc car. With an engine above 1,600cc, it needs a Category B COE. In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100.

COE prices are reset at every bidding round. The COE page has the latest.

Road tax

For the 2,998cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$2,382.76 a year. That was checked on 2026-10-19, before any age surcharge.

After 10 years, the surcharge applies:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

For the M60i's larger engine, look up the sum on the road tax page.

Car insurance

The BMW X7 price page prices this profile:

  • Car: X7 (2,998cc), registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

11 insurers price the X7 for that driver. The lowest premium is S$972.06. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$5,285.85. That is S$4,313.79 more, or 444% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Five insurers on our panel have no online price for this model. With fewer prices on offer, it pays to compare those there are.

The excess

Most plans here set a S$600 excess. Three set S$500 and three S$800. The dearest plan sets S$2,500, and one plan has no excess at all.

You pay the excess yourself on each claim. Read it alongside the premium.

What changes the price

The price page lists the lowest price after one change:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,928.16, S$956.10 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,637.16, S$665.10 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,710.33, S$738.27 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$1,155.96, S$183.90 more
  • A new car, registered this year: S$1,221.67, S$249.61 more
  • A car 8 years old: S$912.73, S$59.33 less

Losing the NCD has the largest effect here. The lowest price rises by 98%, close to double. A younger driver also pays a lot more.

If you buy new, expect the premium to be higher than the 3-year-old car on this page. An 8-year-old X7 costs a little less.

These are lowest prices. Other plans may change by different amounts.

Against similar cars

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six similar cars:

Their average lowest price is S$1,214.63. The X7 is 20% below that. Only one of the six, the Infiniti, is cheaper to insure.

So the X7's high list price does not carry through to a high premium at the lowest price. See the BMW car insurance page for other BMWs, and the cheapest cars to insure page for a wider ranking.

Costs that depend on you

These have no one figure:

  • Parking: season parking at home, plus work and outings. A car of this size may not fit every lot, so check your usual car parks.
  • Petrol: depends on your distance, engine and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and hours.
  • Servicing and parts: the maker's schedule, then tyres, brakes and a battery. Large wheels can make tyres costly. Ask what any warranty or package covers.
  • Depreciation: on a car listed at this price, the drop in value can be the biggest cost of all. It depends on what you pay and what the car fetches later.

Summary of the costs we can show

For the BMW X7 (2,998cc), dated as shown:

  • Road tax: S$2,382.76 a year before any age surcharge (checked 2026-10-19)
  • Insurance, standard driver: from S$972.06 a year (20 October 2026)
  • Insurance, no NCD: from S$1,928.16
  • Insurance, a new car: from S$1,221.67

One-off: a list price from S$681,888 as listed on 2026-10-10, and a Category B COE of S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round.
