Hyundai Santa Fe Turbo costs in Singapore, from COE to insurance

What the Hyundai Santa Fe Turbo 1.6 costs in Singapore: list prices as listed, COE, road tax and dated insurance examples.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Santa Fe Turbo has its own page on the quote form, separate from older Santa Fe models. It is the 1.6 turbo hybrid that is sold new in Singapore today. If you are pricing one, the figures below set out what it costs to buy, register, tax and insure.

Insurance figures are examples for a single stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They show the range of prices on that day. Your own quote depends on your answers.

Three versions, one engine

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has three versions. All are SUVs made in Korea, petrol-electric, with a 1,598cc engine and 215bhp:

  • Santa Fe Turbo Hybrid 1.6 7-Seater
  • Santa Fe Turbo Hybrid 1.6 Calligraphy 7-Seater
  • Santa Fe Turbo Hybrid 1.6 Calligraphy 6-Seater

The quote form lists the same three. Insurance below is for the 1.6 7-Seater, the version most insurers quote.

What it is listed at

As listed on 2026-10-10, with COE included that day:

  • 1.6 7-Seater: S$263,999
  • 1.6 Calligraphy 7-Seater: S$277,999
  • 1.6 Calligraphy 6-Seater: S$279,999

These include the COE as it stood that day, so they move with each round. Ask each showroom what its price covers before you compare.

The COE rule

For the 1.6 7-Seater and its 1,598cc engine, the price page states it this way. The car needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less, and a Category B COE if it is more.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. The COE page keeps the latest results.

Road tax each year

All three versions share the 1,598cc engine. On LTA's formula, that is S$741.72 a year before any age surcharge. Once the car passes 10 years, the surcharge applies:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

More detail is on the road tax page.

The insurance bill for the standard driver

The Hyundai Santa Fe Turbo price page uses these details:

  • Car: Santa Fe Turbo 1.6 7-Seater, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

10 insurers price the car. The lowest premium is S$872.60. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,609.68: S$737.08 more, or 84% on top. Each figure includes 9% GST.

Six insurers have no online price for this model yet. That narrows the field compared with many popular cars, so it is worth getting each of the remaining quotes.

Excess on the plans

The excess here sits between S$500 and S$800 on all but one plan. That one, the dearest, has no excess. Most plans are at S$600. With a narrow range, the premium does most of the work in a comparison. Still, check whether a higher excess applies to young or unnamed drivers.

Which details move the price

The price page reprices the lowest premium one change at a time:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,235.12, S$362.52 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,235.12, S$362.52 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,221.63, S$349.03 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$872.60, the same
  • A new car, registered this year: S$872.60, the same
  • A car 8 years old: S$872.60, the same

Here the car's age does not move the lowest price at all. A new car, a 3-year-old one and an 8-year-old one all start at S$872.60. What does move it is the driver's record. With no NCD the lowest price is 42% higher, and 20% NCD gives the same figure.

That makes NCD the main thing you can protect. These are lowest prices only. Other plans may well treat car age differently.

Against similar cars

The price page lines up six cars for the same driver and car age:

These six average S$729.65 at their lowest. The Santa Fe Turbo is 20% above that, and five of the six cost less to insure. Only the Mazda 3 starts higher. You can browse other Hyundai models on the Hyundai car insurance page, or across makes on the cheapest cars to insure page.

The rest of the bill

Some costs come down to how you use the car:

  • Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus work and weekend parking.
  • Petrol: your mileage and pump prices; the hybrid system shares the load with an electric motor.
  • ERP: your routes and the hours you travel.
  • Servicing and repairs: the maker's schedule, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over time. Ask what the warranty covers on the hybrid parts and for how long.
  • Depreciation: what you pay, set against what the car fetches later.

Summary of yearly costs we can show

  • Insurance, no NCD or 20% NCD: from S$1,235.12
