The Stepwagon Spada e-Hev pairs a 2.0 engine with hybrid drive, and the engine size alone shapes several of its costs. This page sets out the ones with figures we can show. It covers road tax, the COE and car insurance, in that order.
As with every price page on this site, the insurance figures are examples. They are for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. Your details will give you a different price.
The version on our form
The new-car list has no entry for the Spada e-Hev on sale now. There is no list price or power figure to show for it.
Our quote form prices the Stepwagon Spada e-Hev (2.0 Hybrid), with a 1,993cc engine. It is the version our insurers quote, so it is the car behind every figure here.
Road tax at nearly two litres
A bigger engine moves road tax up the scale. For the Spada e-Hev's 1,993cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$1,203.88 a year. That is before any age surcharge.
The surcharge starts after year 10 and grows each year after that:
- Over 10 years: +10%
- Over 11 years: +20%
- Over 12 years: +30%
- Over 13 years: +40%
- Over 14 years: +50%
On a road tax bill this size, the surcharge adds up quickly on an older car. The road tax page has the formula for other engines.
Which COE it takes
Here the price page is clear-cut. With a 1,993cc engine, above 1,600cc, the Spada e-Hev (2.0 Hybrid) needs a Category B COE.
In the October 2026 1st round, Category B closed at S$130,100. If you are buying used, the car comes with its COE, and how long is left on it feeds into the price. Results for each round are on the COE page.
Insurance for the standard driver
The Honda Stepwagon Spada e-Hev price page quotes every insurer for the same person and car:
- Car: Spada e-Hev 2.0 Hybrid, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
- Driver: 40 years old, married, office job, driving 10 to 19 years
- Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
- Repairs: at an authorised workshop, with no add-ons
12 insurers price that profile. The lowest premium is S$866.76. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,448.04, a gap of S$581.28, or 67% on top. Prices include 9% GST.
Some prices on the page carry an estimate label. Each line also shows the date its rate table was read, so you can see how fresh it is.
Excess on the Spada e-Hev
Your excess is the amount you pay towards any claim. Most plans on this page set it at S$600, with others at S$500, S$750 or S$800. One plan has no excess, S$0.
The excess spread here is narrower than on many cars. Even so, compare it with the premium, since a hundred or two on the excess can outweigh a small saving on the premium.
How the premium shifts
The price page changes one fact at a time and shows the lowest price that results:
- No NCD (0%): S$1,083.50, up S$216.74
- 20% NCD: S$1,083.50, up S$216.74
- Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,083.50, up S$216.74
- Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$866.76, the same
- A new car, registered this year: S$892.88, up S$26.12
- A car 8 years old: S$793.75, down S$73.01
The NCD is again the biggest lever. Without it, the lowest price is 25% higher. A younger driver with 30% NCD reaches the same figure.
An older car comes out cheaper at the lowest price. An 8-year-old Spada e-Hev costs S$73.01 less than a 3-year-old one, and a new one costs a little more. Look beyond the lowest line, though, as dearer plans can move by other amounts.
Set against similar models
The price page compares the Spada e-Hev with six cars of similar engine size, for the same driver and car age:
- Lexus NX: S$972.39
- Lexus RX: S$972.39
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class: S$861.03
- BMW 5 Series: S$861.03
- Toyota Voxy: S$793.75
- Toyota Harrier: S$742.90
Their average lowest price is S$867.25. The Spada e-Hev, at S$866.76, sits at about the same level. Four of the six cost less to insure. Other Hondas are on the Honda car insurance page, and you can compare across makes on the cheapest cars to insure page.
Ongoing costs that depend on you
These costs change too much between owners to give a figure:
- Parking: HDB or condo season parking, plus paid parking away from home. Check the rate where you live.
- Petrol: the hybrid system uses electric drive alongside petrol, but your bill still rests on distance and pump prices.
- ERP: depends on where and when you drive.
- Servicing: hybrid parts, tyres, brakes and the 12-volt battery all come due over time. Ask what the service history shows.
- Depreciation: set by what you pay and how many COE years the car has left.
