Honda CR-V price, road tax and car insurance in Singapore

The Honda CR-V in Singapore cost by cost: list prices as listed, COE rules, road tax and dated car insurance prices for different drivers.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Honda CR-V is on sale new in Singapore as an SUV, in five-seat and seven-seat form. Before you sign for one, it helps to see the whole bill laid out: the price to buy, COE, road tax and insurance. This page takes each in turn.

Insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They show the spread and what moves it. Your own quote depends on your own details.

What is on sale

The new-car list read on 2026-10-10 has two CR-V versions, both SUVs made in Thailand:

  • CR-V 1.5 Turbo 5-Seater: petrol, 1,498cc, 190bhp
  • CR-V 1.5 Turbo 7-Seater: petrol, 1,498cc, 190bhp

Our quote form also lists older versions that owners insure: a CR-V 2.0 (1,998cc) and a CR-V 2.4 (2,354cc). The insurance figures below are for the 1.5 Turbo, the version most of our insurers quote.

List prices

As listed on 2026-10-10, with COE included in the list price that day:

  • 1.5 Turbo 5-Seater: S$259,899
  • 1.5 Turbo 7-Seater: S$269,899

These figures move with each COE round. The price you are offered may differ, and offers can include or leave out different items. When you compare dealers, check what each total covers.

COE

Every new car in Singapore needs a Certificate of Entitlement. The price page gives this rule for the CR-V 1.5 Turbo. With a 1,498cc engine, it needs a Category A COE if its power is 97kW (130bhp) or less. If its power is more, it needs a Category B COE.

In the October 2026 1st round, Category A closed at S$130,001 and Category B at S$130,100. Results change every round, and the COE page has the latest.

Road tax

For the 1.5 Turbo's 1,498cc engine, LTA's formula gives S$683.08 a year, before any age surcharge.

The surcharge only starts after 10 years, but it is worth knowing if you plan to keep the car:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

The older 2.0 and 2.4 have larger engines and pay more road tax. You can check any engine size on the road tax page.

Insuring the CR-V

The Honda CR-V price page prices this profile:

  • Car: CR-V 1.5 Turbo, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

14 insurers price it on those details. The lowest premium is S$642.42. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,270.51. That is S$628.09 more, or 98% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

So the dearest insurer's lowest plan costs nearly double the lowest premium. Only two insurers on our panel have no online price for the CR-V.

The excess

Each plan has an excess, the part of a claim you pay first. Most plans on the page set it at S$600, and several at S$500 or S$800. One has none. Some plans set S$2,500 or S$3,000.

A plan in the lower half of the page carries a S$2,500 excess. Look at that figure as closely as the premium. It decides what a claim really costs you.

What changes the premium

The price page shows the lowest premium when one thing changes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,055.75, up S$413.33
  • 20% NCD: S$1,055.75, up S$413.33
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,055.75, up S$413.33
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$642.42, no change
  • New car, registered this year: S$660.69, up S$18.27
  • Car 8 years old: S$586.41, down S$56.01

Losing your NCD is the biggest jump, at 64% more on the lowest price. A newer or younger driver lands on the same raised figure.

For a new CR-V, the lowest price is only a little above the 3-year-old car's. Remember these are lowest prices. Plans higher up the page may change by different amounts. A new car buyer may also want to look at add-ons, such as an NCD protector, which this profile leaves out.

Against similar cars

The price page compares six similar cars for the same driver and car age:

Their average lowest price is S$749.19. The CR-V comes in 14% below it. Only the Sienta is cheaper to insure, and the Corolla Altis matches it. Other Honda models are on the Honda car insurance page.

Costs that depend on you

Some yearly costs vary too much by owner to give one figure.

  • Parking: season parking at your HDB block or condo, plus office, mall and street parking.
  • Petrol: depends on your mileage and the pump price.
  • ERP: depends on your routes and the times you drive.
  • Servicing and repairs: follow the maker's schedule; tyres, brakes and a battery come due over the years. Ask what the warranty and any service package include.
  • Depreciation: what the car loses in value over its COE life depends on what you pay and what it fetches later.

Summary of yearly costs we can show
