Honda Accord Euro S running costs and insurance in Singapore

What the Honda Accord Euro S costs to run in Singapore: road tax on its 2,354cc engine, its COE category and dated car insurance prices.

20 Oct 2026 · 5 min read

The Honda Accord Euro S is a used-market car in Singapore now, with no entry on the current new-car list. Its 2,354cc engine puts it in the bigger-engine bracket for both road tax and COE. This page sets out each yearly cost we can give a figure for.

Insurance figures are examples for one stated driver, read on 20 October 2026. They show how prices spread and shift. They are not a quote for you.

One version on the form

Our quote form lists a single version: the Accord Euro S, with a 2,354cc engine. Every figure below is for that car. There is no list price, as the model is not on sale new.

Category B COE

The price page states it plainly. With a 2,354cc engine, above 1,600cc, the Accord Euro S needs a Category B COE.

Category B closed at S$130,100 in the October 2026 1st round. Buying used, you take over the COE already on the car. Its expiry date sets how long you can keep the car before renewing, so check it. The COE page shows the latest round.

Road tax at 2,354cc

LTA's formula gives S$1,627.34 a year for a 2,354cc engine, before any age surcharge. That is a large yearly bill compared with a small-engined car.

As the car ages past 10 years, a surcharge is added:

  • Over 10 years: +10%
  • Over 11 years: +20%
  • Over 12 years: +30%
  • Over 13 years: +40%
  • Over 14 years: +50%

With a base this high, each surcharge step adds a noticeable sum. The registration date tells you where a given car sits. Other engine sizes are on the road tax page.

Insurance for the stated driver

The Honda Accord Euro S price page uses this profile:

  • Car: Accord Euro S, registered 3 years ago, private use, comprehensive cover
  • Driver: aged 40, married, office job, 10 to 19 years of driving
  • Record: 50% no-claim discount (NCD), no claims
  • Repairs: authorised workshop, no options

14 insurers price it, and only two insurers on our panel have no online price. The lowest premium is S$811.71. The insurer whose lowest plan is dearest asks at least S$1,491.49: S$679.78 more, or 84% on top. All prices include 9% GST.

Prices bunch closely in the middle of the page. Many plans sit within a narrow band, so small details such as the excess can tip the choice.

Some prices on the page are marked as estimates. Treat those as a rough guide, and confirm the figure on the insurer's own site before you rely on it.

The excess on each plan

The excess is what you pay yourself towards each claim. The usual figure on this page is S$600. Other plans set S$500, S$750 or S$800. One sets S$2,500, and one has no excess.

If two plans cost much the same, compare their excess and what each covers. The page lists the excess beside every premium.

How the lowest price reacts

Change one thing about the driver or the car, and the lowest premium becomes:

  • No NCD (0%): S$1,149.24, S$337.53 more
  • 20% NCD: S$1,149.24, S$337.53 more
  • Driver aged 27, 3 years' driving, 30% NCD: S$1,149.24, S$337.53 more
  • Driver aged 65, 20 or more years' driving: S$811.71, the same
  • New car, registered this year: S$836.07, S$24.36 more
  • Car 8 years old: S$742.90, S$68.81 less

The NCD has the most effect. Without it, the lowest price rises 42%. A 20% NCD and the younger driver land on that same figure. If you have built up a high NCD, ask how a claim would cut it, and whether an NCD protector is offered and at what cost.

An older Euro S costs a little less to insure at the lowest price. These figures cover the lowest plan only; dearer plans can move by other amounts.

Compared with cars of similar size

For the same driver and car age, the price page lists six cars with similar engine sizes:

Their average lowest price is S$975.36. The Euro S sits 17% below it. Two of the six, the Alphard and the Vellfire, are cheaper to insure. The two Audis are priced by only a few insurers, which lifts the average. More Hondas are on the Honda car insurance page, and the cheaper cars to insure page compares across makes.

Costs we cannot put a figure on

These depend on how you use the car.

  • Parking: season parking where you live, plus parking at work and in town.
  • Petrol: follows your mileage and the pump price.
  • ERP: follows your routes and timings.
  • Servicing and repairs: routine servicing, plus tyres, brakes and a battery over the years. On a used car, ask to see its service record.
  • Depreciation: follows the price you pay and the COE life left.
